Hi everyone!
A month ago i got engaged!
Although an actual wedding is a long way off i could help but think that, when you think of love you jump straight to hearts. I have my pacemaker for bradycardia and my fiance has tachycardias. Does anyone know any really cheesey quotes or sayings that tie these together? Now i have the idea in my head i can't not do it!

How can I find outI the model number and serial number of my unit? I tried calling the hospital, and they plead the 5th amendment. I called the doctor's office and they said call the hospital or the manufaturer. I can fill out a temp ID card but I don't have all the information I need....

Hi all. I moved from Philadelphia to central Washington and there is only one EP in my area and the EP program is not really established yet, so I am going to drive over the mountains to Seattle or Everett to get better care. I have bradycardia with a pacemaker implanted in 2009. I have been the victim of programming mistakes before, so I actually collect all my intitial interrogation reports as well as final reports so I can make sure nothing is changed without my permission. ...

I have a Medtronic rate response pace maker with lower setting at 60 bpm and rate response setting at 120 bpm due to bradycardia. Interrogation reports show virtually 100 % dependent.. I calculate that on a day with normal low intensity activity my pacer is "FIRING" about 120,000 +/- times. This seems to be quite a high demand on battery life excluding sensing and interrogating. I am wondering how this demand effects longevity. My first pace maker...

Anyone know or experience the same as me. I am awaiting a lead replacement surgery and have developed a silly cough every time my heart pauses and the pacemaker clicks in. It's just a single cough, not a coughing fit. But there is a definite urge to cough. Anyone else had this?

Hi, I got a pacemaker a year ago due to Bradycardia. Since then, my BP has been on average 150/96 and the like. My cardiologist does not seem to be concerned--I had to push for BP medication which I take once per day and my BP is still high. I am not doing what I'm supposed to with diet and exercise and hope to soon. Anyone else have high BP with a pacemaker and how do you handle it?

There's a new kid on the block in US primary care medicine. It's called Direct Primary Care (DPC). So far laws allowing the concept to be created have been enacted in only 17 states out of the 50. For a relatively exhaustive discussion of the programs, Google http://www.jabfm.org/content/28/6/793.full for an article by the national guru on DPC, Dr. Phil Eskew, who practices under the concept in Wyoming.
DPC can save patients significant money in prinary care through...

I'm a 26-year-old female who's had a pacemaker since age 15. Since about 18 I've had 36C/34D breasts, which I was quite happy with. When I got my second implant a few years ago, at age 23, I noticed that it was more painful trying to heal with a heavier breast, but it got better when I healed. Occasionally I'd have discomfort with the pacemaker site but it was rare that I'd notice - until recently.
About 4 months ago I quickly gained and then quickly l...

Hi, my best friend who has had a long history of cardiac issues has been recently given the option of putting in a permanent pacemaker. She would like to talk or email someone who is around her age (She is 31) as she wants an objective opinion of a patient and life with a pacemaker. So if anyone who knows anyone and is willing to talk to her that would be appreciated. Thanks!!

Hi everyone
I just recently received my PM and I'm wondering if the security screening at major events is safe like baseball games and concerts or is it the same as airport security? I haven't seen anything about this and I'm going to the Adele concert this week in Toronto. Anyone know??
Thank you!!

Hi all. Went to dentist a few days ago for a cleaning and when I told her that I now have a P M. She told me that she can't use her ultra sonic cleaning tool on me any more. So she used her manual instrument. Wasn't the end of the world but took soooo long. Any one else been told the same thing? What would it do to me if it was used? Thanks for your responses in advance.
