Permanent Pacemaker for someone in their early 30s

Hi, my best friend who has had a long history of cardiac issues has been recently given the option of putting in a permanent pacemaker. She would like to talk or email someone who is around her age (She is 31) as she wants an objective opinion of a patient and life with a pacemaker. So if anyone who knows anyone and is willing to talk to her that would be appreciated. Thanks!!

There are many her age here! There are also several pages on Facebook where she can chat. I'm 50 now but got my first one at 27. It doesn't affect my day to day life at all, other than to keep me feeling good. The idea is way more scary than the reality. I'd be happy to talk to her, feel free to private message me.

What Facebook pages can you recommend, TraceyE?

There are lots! Just do a search. Some are busy, some are quiet. The biggest one with the most younger patients that stays the busiest is this one.

Thank you!

I finished 29th in London in 2 hours 20 minutes 30 seconds which is my fastest with or without a device so clearly it didn’t slow me down ! I had no problems apart from some slight chaffing on my scar - more Vaseline next time.
