What can I say, its been a hell of a month. Well, year really.
I have had 4 ablations and a pacemaker implanted in the past 15 months. My most recent ablation was actually on the 17th, good bye sinus node. Life without a sinus node is interesting so far.
Anyways, I was wondering if anyone has gotten a tattoo after getting an ablation or if you might have an idea of how long after surgery to wait to get one? Or do you think it would be similar to the dental work rule?...

Anybody know how to reset the Merlin transmitter? My wireless is showing green since last night, I think it's stuck. I'm just not sure how to reset!
Lithotripsy on foot?

Has anyone had lithotripsy on an extremity? I thought it was not recommended for kidney stones but have never heard about it one way or the other on a foot (heel spur). I looked on SJM's website and it is not on the NO list, but the "ask your doctor" list now. My podiatrist has never had a situation with a paced patient. When we asked my cardiologist 5 years ago, he hadn't run across it either. It settled down that time before any decisions were made, but now it's back a...

Well I just joined the club! I'm 20 years old, and I had my pacemaker implanted when I was 19. I had been fainting basically since I was born, first time was when I was 8 weeks old (gave my mom a good scare). And then again when I was 2 months old. It didn't happen again, that I'm aware of, until I was 11. Then I would faint at least once a year, and sometimes many more than that. I didn't always faint, I would just get light headed and feel really sick sometimes. It...

I will be needing a followup colonoscopy in a few months, for an earlier polyp removal. Has anyone any experience with this? Will the anesthesiologist (they use propofol) need a PM tech in the room to montor things? Any thoughts?

My cardiologist just called to ask how I'd been feeling. I told them "ok," but had been dizzy and BP had been running high. They advised my pacemaker was pacing at 125 last night (while I was l laying down), and I wondered what that might mean.

Hi all!,

I saw a new sign at the airport yesterday at the metal detector. It said if you had a pacemaker, only walk through on the advice of your doctor. I had never noticed that before, previously it was no pacemakers should go through, whether your doctor said it's ok or not. I've been walking through since I got my newest one earlier this year. My doc said the alloys they use now won't set it off, and it's shielded enough that it won't be affected. Yesterday was the first I didn...

I started getting symptoms a few months ago where I would feel very warm at night like I have a fever but a thermometer shows my temp close to normal. Sometimes I would wake up with arms and legs tingling and tightness in my chest and ache all over like the flu. If I got up and walked around I would feel relief. I have not fainted or felt dizzy but when sitting sometimes I get tired and find it hard to concentrate. Also I sometimes get a tickle in my throat but it never turns i...

Hi. Quick question ((cuz I usually go into too much useless detail). I have to fly in a few days to be with my sister as my nephew had a heart attack. I'm nervous about flying for the first time with my pm. Will the altitude or anything have an effect? I wrote a few days ago cuz my heart was doing all the fluttering, skipping thing, I assumed cuz of the heat, and it also seems to do this if I walk too much or carry stuff, etc. Otherwise I feel great. Th...

Just wanted to send out a little post as today marks my ONE year anniversary of recieving my pacemaker for complete heart block!! So crazy how time flies by! I am feeling better than ever! :) When I first got my pacemaker implaneted and even when I found out I would need one, I knew nothing about them and was so nervous (I really thought I would have so many restrictions in life)! Anyways, just thought I would post as I know many of you may have just recieved the news of getting a pacemaker o...

Hi, just wondering.....I've had my pm for a little over 4months and after several adjustments I finally felt terrific...until a few days ago when my pulse started skipping (that what it feels like. Someone once told me that what I feel is really the pm taking over). For some reason that no doc seems to understand, every time I feel that skip, I also have to cough. It's been like in the 30s C. or mid 90's Fahrenheit not counting the humidity these days and I'm...

Hi folks. I had surgery last Tuesday after fainting twice, once at the breakfast table (my wife eased me down to the dining room floor) and once in the ER. They put a pacemaker in that same day. I am 68, pretty good shape, no other health issues besides acid reflux, exercise regularly, so I was really shocked to find out that I needed one. The only prior symptom was a little lightheadedNess when getting up suddenly from a sitting position. Is this just part of th...
