A brief thank you to the four guys who responded so quickly to my not coping comment. You are so correct, I have to follow up my cardiac unit as the responses from my GP so far this year have been utterly u/s.
Never having been ill in my life before this has all been one shock, so thanks to you all and I am so glad to have your thoughts- and yes, sadly no golf- yet, but here's hoping though 6 down to scratch is I think out of the question!!
So pleased this site is here. Brilliant.

Heart to heart with my Doc

No pun intended really. I had my annual interrogation last Thursday. I have been implanted for 26 months. At my 3 month interrogation, my pace was set at 70 bpm and my rate response was turned on. I felt great. At the first year interrogation my pace was reduced to what I thought was 60 bpm and the rate response turned off. I became cold right away and did not warm up for three months - and even thereafter battled to stay warm. Five months after the inerrogation I had reason to take my pu...

For those of you struggling and/ or new

There is life after a PM, ICD or CRT. Today (Dec. 5th) is my 7th Year Anniversary!

The Doctors said a virus attacked my heart. CHF, LBBB, SSS, Cardiomyopathy, enlarged heart, Brady and an EF of 24%. Hence I was very short of breath and no energy.

After about 5 months of meds my EF went to 30% but it was not enough. I was told I needed a Bi-Vent CRT-D. It was one of those moments when time stood still and I didn't hear much of what the Doctor said after that...

EMF problem

I am an electric welder who recently received a pacemaker. I am looking for a type of material which will shield me from the harmful effects of EMF while welding. All I could find out from Medtronic is to stay at least two feet away from the tip. Is there any welder in the club with a pacemaker with more information who can help me with this problem .

Sorin kora 250 DR pacemaker

Hi I know that this pacemaker is not available in the USA at the moment but it is available in the UK and Europe, I had this model fitted on 12 September 2015 in the UK but it seems they never informed radiology about the fact they were MRI SAFE and they could go into the scanner. I spent 25 days in hospital until they eventually decided to give me a MRI scan which turned out not to be ischmia but MS related what a waste of my time.

Loving My New Replacement Pacemaker

Had my 3rd pm placed on the 16 of November. I feel so much better its like being handed back my life! My second pm never seemed to help and by the end of year 6 I could barely walk up 12 stairs. The new pm is a boston scientific l321 that has rate response that works on respiration not movement I believe this has made all the difference (along with support and prayers). I just want to thank my fellow pacemaker brothers and sisters for the kind wishes and support over the years.

Tikosyn/Pacemaker

I have been on Tikosyn for about four years for my AFIB. My problem is that I can not get my heart rate above 120. When it gets around 120 my heart rate slows to 60 sometimes a little slower. during cardio rehab sessions. This problem showed up under the constant heart monitoring in rehab. Now I am getting a pacemaker and am wondering if Tikosyn is a necessary medication if you have a pacemaker.

BEAT IT Grantham....

....Hi to all PM Club members. Some may have read my quarterly updates on the meetings that Beat It Grantham has had at my local hospital..

Last night , yet again, a larger turn out showed just how this group is gaining a good reputation. Hosted by the affable Andrew Houghton, the theme was an open Q & A on the subject of medications and side effects as well as the 'nuts and bolts' of how medications, and their combinations can effect magnesium and potassium levels..for...

Identity pacemakers

It has been a while I visited this website or st. judes. I am close to 9 years on my 1st PM, so I started looking around if there are any new devices. I noticed that, there are no dual chamber Identity pacemakers listed in St. Jude website, did I miss something ? The website only shows the Identity single chamber device. Did they happen to rename the product line? Your answers are highly appreciated.

Also, anyone knows, what kind of signals/warnings does Identity ADx XL 5386 pacemaker...

Question about visability of pacemaker

I'm just wondering, for all of you lovely people with pacemakers out there. How visible is your pacemaker? is it normal for me to see my pacemaker towards my inner armpit when I move my arm up and down? It's almost as if when I lift my arm up it pops out or either the skin tightens around it or the pacemaker actually moves, I'm not sure which one because I don't know much about if it stays in one place or moves. It kind of makes me nervous to see it. I can't see it just looking at it from the...
