Has anyone had any problems using an induction cook top?

Thanks,

My doctor said that as long as My device is about a foot away I am fine. I have experiences no problem using them and just cooked some eggs about them minutes ago with one so I think they are fine!

As always, it is very good to hear from you.

If my neighbour starts giving me unlimited supplies of 10 year old malt I think I will move in with her. I'm sure my wife would understand ! So far I've only been given coffees unfortunately.

Now, Tatman, you know that I worry about you for two reasons :-
i) The very strange posts that you send

ii) the fact that you have no tattoos, yet you call yourself Tattoo Man

Could it be that your continual exposure to induction hob radiation is causing you to become delusional ?

Why not do a trial ? Abandon your induction hob for 6 weeks but carry on sending posts . We could then all review the sanity of the content.

Cheers

Ian

I checked the technical documentation on your device and discovered the audible alarm you were hearing is to warn those in close proximity that you are about to back up. Prevents you from being rear ended

.....................please accept my unconditional apologies ,...along with my Twin Brother IAN MC and an Odd Bod from Arizona, your perfectly reasonable question has been Hi-jacked for comedy purposes....

In my defence...

IAN MC started it !

Pacemaker Club has a habit of getting a bit stir crazy on the run up to Christmas...or it may be the effect of seasonal sunspots.....historically proven to set off IAN MCs malaise.....as in...his sad delusion of being a dump truck driver in reverse. Cabg Patch knows Mr MC all too well !!

If you look up induction Hobs under "Search" you will see some previous comments on the topic.

Interestingly, I was invited into a neighbour's kitchen a couple of years ago and was standing very close to her cooker . My pacemaker started beeping and I was aware of being paced ,or at least aware of something happening in the heart area( the only time that I have ever had that feeling ) , I moved away, the beeping stopped; moved back and both the beeping noise and the heart sensation re-started.

I subsequently found out that she has an induction hob. I wrote to Medtronic about this and they recommended to keep a distance of 60cms from the hob. They never could explain the beeping noise though.

My neighbour was far more concerned about it than I was and she now always yells at me " Don't go near the hob " whenever I am in her kitchen,

I know that ,because of my experience, I would never ever buy an induction hob myself , even though most people seem to have no problems with them.

....Was your Induction Cooktop--Beeping episode in any way connected with the fact that you had visited your neighbour principally to consume 10 year old malt whiskey....??

As an Induction cook myself my only personal restriction would be not to step into a giant Wok and turn myself into a stir-fry..

Vicki....go ahead with the Induction Cooktop and enjoy the speed and control of gas with the cleanliness of electric..its also a great excuse to go out and buy some really good pans....if you can, get Stellar 7000...probably the best that you can get.

Happy cooking !!

IAN...get your hearing aid checked out or wait a few days and a decent one might fall out of your Christmas Cracker !!...B

Thanks for all the info!

Buying one and hoping not to get rear ended when I use it :)

You know you're wired when...

You have a $50,000 chest.
