I had my 2-wire ICD/PM upgraded to 3-wire just prior to an AV Node Ablation two weeks ago. Since a Mitral Valve Repair in January of 2013, I have lived with extreme fatigue and an inability to walk more that 20-30 linear feet without having to stop or sit down for a minute or two. I also have Atrium Fibrillation and BP typically runs 90/60.
After my upgrade procedure, I was expecting some level of symptom relief. This did not happen. Prior to the procedure, my EF had been a steady 20 - 25%....

Hi all,
I am completely new to the world of pacemakers. My mother is scheduled to have one implanted in her tomorrow and honestly, I am a bit worried. I understand this is a normal, very common procedure and I know she will be back on her feet in no time! I was hoping to see if there are other folks like me who have loved ones who have pacemakers.
What is the best support you can give a loved one? What should one be mindful in regards to pacemakers, aside from what is alre...

I'm a 60 yr old woman with bradycardia. No pacemaker so far. My symptoms are fatigue, feeling faint (but rarely fainting), nocturnal leg/foot cramps, and some edema in legs and feet. I'm not on meds. Bloodwork and thyroid levels are normal. But I'm tired of being tired, having no energy, accomplishing nothing!
Everything I read about bradycardia says that PaceMaker is the usual treatment, so I'm guessing my doctor will recommend that.
What I want to know is: Is a P...

Hiya I had my pm fitted in August. I feel like my pm has moved. My scar line used to be directly under my pm but it seems to be more on the right now. Should I be worried. Next check up is in January.
Still feeling very tired but have just been diagnosed with diabetes.

I have sinus bradycardia with no other issues. I consider myself a fair, not great, online researcher; however, I am having difficulty finding current relevant information comparing various pacemaker models and their problems from non-manufacturer sources. The pacemaker club has been of some help, but I would like more, broader based sources to complete my evaluations.
Thanks.

I have an appointment with an urologist due to elevated PSA. I am told that an MRI is a preferred non-invasive screen in evaluating the prostate. I know that will not be an option for me. Has anyone faced this situation and, if so, what was done to get prostate information non-invasively. Thanks.

Ok so last Saturday on Halloween I went in to ventricular tachycardia ended up getting cardio version and a nice 2 day stay in the hospital. I am now on tambacor and metropolol 2 times a day , had pacemaker adjusted and xeralto . I don't generall take well to meds but being tired and feeling funny is better than being dead.
So my choices are stay on meds forever with no guarantee I won't go into tachycardia again or have more issues or #2 have an ablation I that lower left area which is a r...

Because of my pacemaker I was allowed to not pass through the metal detector and was given the option of a pat down or a hand held wand. I selected the pat down. During the pat down I was told that the attendant would have to feel the pacemaker which he did. This was very uncomfortable. Has anyone had a similar experience? Has anyone had the hand held wand search?

before my PM I was told I have mild sleep apena. So of course the machine and oxygen was pushed on me. Even though my oxygen level was 78 at night. Ive struggled to get use to machine for a couple years. It make me bloated, and I have bad claustrophobia. So now I have the PM and wonder if I even need the sleep machine. Sometimes I wonder just how much money these doctors make off of us.
Anyway I just wonder if the pm keeps my heart beating then it wont stop at night , right ?

This is my first post, and have only had my pacemaker 6 months.
Ever sine I had a device check 30 days ago I have had what I call flutters, slight shotness of breath, and just uneasy feelings twice a day, every day, at 7:36 pm and 7:50 am! Has any one else had these reactions? I have called the dr. But really they haven't called me back. Its getting old!!! I could set my watch to these, they are so precise!

I'm now on a beta blocker Toprol. Does this help with chest pains and shortness of breath? The ER gave me nitro and it worked so they sent me back to the hospital that put on my pm, they did a chemical stress test said I was fine no new damage. The nurse told me about the Toprol as the docs couldn't be bothered, she said my heart was not beating efficiently that's why the new drug.
Any input about this would help! As I am not asking any doc about as they treat me like it's all in my head!
