Moving pm

Hiya I had my pm fitted in August. I feel like my pm has moved. My scar line used to be directly under my pm but it seems to be more on the right now. Should I be worried. Next check up is in January.

Still feeling very tired but have just been diagnosed with diabetes.

Double Whammy...

by oldearthworm - 2015-11-10 08:11:27

Diabetes .. lets hope its early and just mild (no injections) ..
Five , or so years ago I had injections ..NO fun, thank goodness that is over with...and thank goodness for at home injections as 50 years ago, a man would have to go to a clinic ..horrible times ...

..Then there is the triple whammy, blood pressure, diabetes and kidney failure(so I am told) .. ..
Stay on top of things and be well..
As to the PM shifting position, call and tell the surgeon and demand an answer ..
Diabetes numbers ? Mine were nearly off the chart (300 PLUS) but I don't recall being tired .

Type 2 diabetes. Doc started me on 500mg of metformin just upped it to 1000 and said he's going to move up to 4 x 500mg a day in next few weeks. Said to doc about getting a kit to check my glucose levels bit he said I don't need one. Only if you inject insulin. Feel all over the place not been given any advice. Sometimes I feel a bit shakey sometimes I feel just weird with a watery mouth. Don't know what is feeling for high glucose and wjich is for low glucose. Will get on to the hospital where I had my pm fitted. Thanks for you advice x

Hello Sue,

I know this is a forum for pacemaker people, but I want to jump in about the diabetes.
It is very important that you learn everything you can about managing it, so that you can avoid the bad consequences of erratic and/or unregulated blood sugar--kidneys, eyes, etc.. Many hospitals (because of Obamacare mandates for preventive medicine) offer excellent classes for people with diabetes. Check in your area.
In my area, not only do they have classes about monitoring your blood sugar, etc. but they also teach healthy nutrition classes for people living with chronic disease, not just diabetes. They also have diabetes focused classes. And they partner with a large supermarket chain to have someone actually teach meal preparation and cooking.
And all of this is free.
I hope you can find a place where you learn everything you want to know so you can take good care of yourself.
