My PM will be due for replacement in 2025. I wonder if the wireless product will become mature by then. It saves a lot of hassle without relying on these leads.

Hiya, I'm parent to a 5 year-old who was 'pacemakered' last week- side effect of his 2nd OHS was total heart block, hence the need for the pacemaker. Still in shock as, although I was aware of all the other risks of his surgery, needing a pacemaker, or rather- being totally pacemaker dependent- wasn't even mentioned as a possibility until the morning of the surgery when the 'small print' mentioned a 5% chance of needing a pacemaker'.
It's all quite a lot to get my head around, mainly becaus...

In a few hours I will be getting my first pacemaker inserted. I'm really nervous. I found this site this morning- I am so glad. Now I have a resource for my questions. I'm 42 and was diagnosed with CHF after my pregnancy.

While the PM club was out of action my wife insisted that I decorate the house, mow the lawn, repair her car, tidy up the garage , catch up with paper-work, go shopping with her and even plumb in a new washing machine.
She asks if the PM site could be made to go out of action every other week ?
Please ignore her !

FYI-this may be of interest and helpful to some of you.
I had a crt-d procedure 15 months ago. my EF increased from 10-35 over that period of time. however, my pacing went from 100 to 82 at last interrogation in June. I was still feeling great.
additionally, my heart size returned to normal and mitral valve regurgitation went from severe to mild. all good signs. but the pacing was slowly decreasing. interrogations also showed an increase in PVCs to 17 percent.

I am a 90 yr old male in very good shape for my age. I work-out 2-3 x a week and have no symptoms; i.e., difficulty breathing, chest pain,, palpitations, dizziness, etc, I have had bradycardia for the past 5 years and had no typical symptoms that would warrant getting a pacemaker. Taking into consideration all of the possible risks of having or not having a pacemaker, I would appreciate some help making the decision

How close can a Merlin transmitter and a radio be? I have placed the transmitter on my night table and the radio is on the same table about 4 in. away.
I go to the pacemaker doctor tomorrow and have'nt started using the transmitter yet.

I'm a newbie, AV node ablation and bi-ventricle pacer placed 4 months ago. I've had a-fib, a-flutter and some vtach issues for the last few years and ablation and amiodarone were not controlling things. Been feeling great, rarely thinking about the packer at all and then yesterday had an issue. Beach camping with my family had to come up 8 flights of stairs and barely made it to the top. I started to see stars, my husband said my lips turned white and I had to sit for 5-10 minutes before I could...

Hi everyone! Just a quick question. How does having a pacemaker affect future surgeries? Not necessarily heart related surgery, but general surgeries as well? (ex: gallbladder removal, tonsils taken out, etc.) I have tried researching this on the internet but I just keep finding articles about how the pacemaker implantation surgery goes.

I have never successfully boarded an airplane since my pacemaker implant without a pat down plus. It is getting to be an adventure seeing what they will think of next. On the way to our vacation I had to hold out BARE arms to the sides while they frisked those arms on the top and bottom. Were they looking for guns, knives, or drugs UNDER the skin? On the way home, they fondled both knees, put their wand on my left shoe and tested my hands for gunpowder residue. I must be a famous terrorist a...

I can't find a support group in Saint Johns County. My husband is a laryngectomee and we belong to Nu Voice of Daytona Beach. It has helped us a lot but now we need a pacemaker club. Thanks.

Hi
I am getting a lot of PVC's lately, one cause seems to be when I use the computer, it's a dell optiplex 745 and sits in front of me level with my heart, is this likely to be a problem?
Cheers Roy

New guy here....56 years old.
Two lead install five weeks ago...
Left heart complete electrical block. fainting...I have a high Heart rate, not a low one....so meds bring it down and sometimes it drops too much..
Not that it matters, Interesting I've seen no others mention the " Biotronik" brand..
I have one friend who has a PS and it's the same kind..
Funny how mine will only kick on once a month or whenever...when I need it...Which is a GOOD thing......
You know you're wired when...
A thirty-day guarantee is not good enough.
