Transmitter as in Home Monitor?

by valley01 - 2015-07-23 05:07:06

I was told if I was going to be gone for a week to just leave it home but any more than a week I should take it with me. I just don't know if every person's situation is different?

Boston Scientific Latitude Monitor

I presume you are referring to your home monitor. Since most of my family that I visit do not have land lines in their homes anymore, I leave mine at home. I do not require constant monitoring. Camping and such and some motels you can't be assured of a phone jack either. The Latitude has a feature for attaching a cell phone into one of the USB ports on the back, and it call the lab and company data centers. There is also a USB-to-Ethernet adapter to tie directly into a PC to access the Internet and send to the lab website. Both of these are additional cost. Currently I use the phone connection to VOIP calls to the lab through my cable modem. Regardless, if I am going on a long trip, I call the lab and they note that they will not be getting any updates for a few days. So far, no problem. If I had to have constant monitoring, I would go with the cell phone adapter, I suppose. All you need then is power and a good cell connection.

Just because you have a device doesn't mean you are damaged goods and can't do anything worthwhile and have to lie down and die. In fact, you're better and stronger. You're bionic!
