If you currently have a pace maker and it is helping your quality of life or preventing a future problem, by all means get it replaced. Had mine replaced in February after the original one had to be replaced after 7 1/2 years due to depleted battery life. Was in and out the same morning at Palm Beach Gardens, Florida and it was a piece of cake. Just had to be careful to not get the incision wet for 7 to 10 days. Also, the added benefit of getting a new one is getting the latest in technology. Mine was a Medtronic MRI compatible Pace Maker. Good luck
