Hey guys. I'm a pacemaker newbie (just had it implanted in December) and some family and friends are suggesting that I get a medical device bracelet/necklace. My cardiologist never mentioned it to me. Do you all have them?!?
Thanks!

First post! I have absolutely no symptoms but have just been told that I need a CRT-D due to LBBB, low EV and disynchronocity and enlarged left ventricle.
Difficult to accept as no symptoms even when skiing or hillwalking .
Anyone else out there asymptomatic who's had a CRT-D? Did it improve EV? Change anything else?
thanks

Warm regards to everyone!
It's been ages since I last post. It's really nice to know that some people that I can remember are still out there giving there best when it comes to opinions,advice...and whatever they can do to help.
I had TIA two summers ago (it was gone even before paramedics arrived) was sent to ER and went thru all the test needed ( 5 long hours of my life!) and got all the negative results and was sent home. I was sent to a neurologist (who told me he never want to s...

Hello all. I am new here ad a member but a long time lurker researching welding and having a pm. I am 24, had a battery change last year and am 100% dependant on my device since 2005. I have searched all the threads and found complete hit or miss with welding and pacing. I work in a custom steel shop and I have been avoiding welding the entire time. It is MIG arc welding. Now before I took the job, both medtronics and my heart doctor said it would be fine so long as I keep amperage at or below 1...

I have been having trouble with my pm bulging when I lie on my side in bed at night, it sticks out and feels weird but slips back into position when I lie on my back, this happens several times at night. I had thought it might be because I have lost about 4kgs and gone down a bra size so weight has come off in that area, also have had a cardioversion about 6mths ago, but after having a chest xray to check position of pm it shows pm has changed position and Dr has sent urgent referral thru to ca...

Hi everyone,
I,m a 65 year old male and I had a PM put in 2 years ago.
I have had afib all my life. The reason for the PM was because I was having slow beats as well. My EP thought by putting in a PM it would help the slow beats and then he could increase my Cardizeum to 420 mg. a day to help the afip and not have to worry about slowing my heart down.
My question is: I,m thinking now of having my AV Node ablated and would like to hear comments of others who have had this done. I...

I'm a 26 year old female. I'm scheduled to have a pacemaker put in on Thursday (2/2/2015) and I have to admit I'm not handling it very well.
The bandage hasn't even come off from when they put in the implantable loop recorder. I passed out the day after they put it in and they said that my heart "paused" for 10 seconds. After that I got a bit dazed and I don't even remember what they said I had. It had atrial in there somewhere I think.
I'm trying to do research so I can...

--Also just dropping by to say how thankful I am to have had my pacemaker put in a year ago. We had several lovely vacations, did gardening and hose remodeling and I had other abdominal surgeries in July - all with extra energy to spare. Right now I especially glad to have that energy boost because I am coping with a horrible fall my husband had on the ice on Jan. 6, landing on the back of his head with a subdural and subarachnoidal brain hemorrhage. After 3 1/2 wk. in intensive care and regu...

Yes it's ok to wear a fitbit but we are not supposed to use the scales that measure bmi, etc. Stick to a regular scale.

Hey guys I hope all is well. I hope this is okay to post in here, if not I guess the admins will delete it and I apologize.
I'm part of an anthology to benefit the American Heart Association, a cause near and dear to my heart. I have a pacemaker and I've had 4 mini-stokes.
I wanted to share it in here in case there are any romance readers that would like enjoy something like this that hits close to home.

Hi all
My 17 yr old son had a PM fitted 2 years ago for bradycardia. It is his dream to follow a career in sound engineering. Having done some research this is a highly electrical/magnetic environment. Does anyone know if there is a reliable protective vest available on the market?? it would have to be something tailor made.
Many thanks

Hey all,
It has been a while since I have posted! As an update, I am doing great! PM is working like it is supposed to and finally have all the settings where they need to be! I did develop Atach/SVTs and had a failed ablation and another TIA. BUT, I am well.
I am still chasing chickens and ducks and am looking foward to my first powerlifting competition at the end of the month.
I hope everyone here is doing good for where they are also!

I notice when I sign in, 99% of the time I am at the bottom of the list. Now I'm not complaining....in fact, I find it rather amusing.
So am I "bringing up the rear" or am I the caboose. As I understand it, the caboose is a very important part of the train.
Be kind in your responses. :-)

This is a response I got from Medtronic when I inquired about beeping that woke me up at 1AM on Monday AND after a 240 mile round trip to the cardiologist ofc yesterday, at the recommendation of their nurse practitioner, I might add.
I hope this information will help those who have current models of Medtronic pacemakers avoid the frustration and embarrassment that I still fell.
