Im worried i wont feel as good as the doctors say, how soon until you guys felt the difference(better) did anyone regret it? Will I be able to dance at my daughter wedding (August) without feeling sooo tired so soon?

I just got my pm 2 weeks ago. First there was shock because I had not clue about what was wrong. Then denial and pure fear. I havent always been kind to my body either. I started gaining weight and really couldnt understand what was going on. Duh I was not moving because I was so tired and out of breath.
I was part of the micra study and that is a leadless pm. That also put fear in me. But, I did find one other person here that is part of that study. She has helped me a great deal.
I didnt have the time to digest all the information. Was told on Monday that I needed one and Tuesday night I was in the ER being transferred to get my pm on Wed. It's still a blur. I write down questions as to ask my dr as I think of them and take that with me. Take another person along to listen as well.
Since my pm was placed in my heart through the Femerol artery, recover is supposed to be pretty quick but two weeks out and still a bit sore. Taking it slow and trying to get out and move.
Instillation was 3 months ago and still getting use to it.

The recovery time varies. I went to Disney World 7 days after the implant. Had a great time. i was a little tender but it wasn't an issue. The implant caught me by surprise. I'm still coming to terms with it. I was worried in the beginning but now I have come to think of it as an insurance policy..
Its there to get me out of trouble. If at all possible, do cardio-rehab. It made a big difference for me. Try not to focus on the fear..Be Positive..it only gets better from now on.
You know you're wired when...
You run like the bionic woman.

My pacemaker is intact and working great.
pacemaker and defib unit

Good afternoon, I have had two pm's and now have one that doubles as a defib unit. I love mine and it gives me peace of mind. Defib units are needed, in my case because I have border line congestive heart failure (35%) so it is a safety net. Better safe than sorry. Have had a pacemaker for 8 years and it has helped me feel better and keeps my heart happy. Good luck and hope it goes well and look forward to hearing from you. Tom
