Welding and pacemaker 2015

Hello all. I am new here ad a member but a long time lurker researching welding and having a pm. I am 24, had a battery change last year and am 100% dependant on my device since 2005. I have searched all the threads and found complete hit or miss with welding and pacing. I work in a custom steel shop and I have been avoiding welding the entire time. It is MIG arc welding. Now before I took the job, both medtronics and my heart doctor said it would be fine so long as I keep amperage at or below 130 amps. They didn't even recommend twisting the leads, grounding near the work, keeping a distance from the welder and the arc. Simply just watch the amperage. I'm really just trying to find people similar to myself who are doing this successfully. I trust my doctor and the manufacturer only so much.

Having said that, I do also own a stainless steel plated t shirt or a Faraday cage, if you will, that I wear on the normal in there basically to block out any dirty frequencies and or hopefully emf. Some people online say it needs to be grounded to work for emf, others say not so much. Any experience there? Thanks for your replies and discussion.

Check previous posts. We have people who have done TIG welding. Don't know details as I'm not a welder.

Hope you get good information.

I am not planning on letting any of this shorten my life. I am planning on living a long happy battery operated life. You never know maybe it will keep me alive longer. I sure know one thing I would have been dead before starting school without it.
