I have a teenage daughter getting ready to have her pacemaker moved from her abdomen to higher location. She is very concerned about it being under the clavicle where it is very visible. I have read many posts about putting it under the muscle. She is very athletic and is a softball pitcher so we want it placed that will cause her the least discomfort but also be the least noticeable. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi everyone. I am new here I just last week got wired up. They gave me all these do's and don't do's and I saw my life as I knew it was over. However after reading a lot of post here it seems that all was exagerated and I can still have a pretty niormal life ----using common sense.
ar age 84 I still do my yard work, mow lawn pole saw. leaf blower all those good things.
From the comments here I can still do that without problems.
Thanks for the info

I would like to hear from anybody who can assist or advise me in some research I am contemplating to undertake concerning personal radios used by law enforcement and other like agencies, and their possible effect on the heart, by prolonged use.
I used radios in connection with my work as a police officer for over 30 years. In particular for a period of over 5 years in the early 1980âs I used a covert radio which consisted of a radio worn in a harness similar to a firearm brace, wor...

Well, I was right. I should be punching a time card at physical therapy. They have me training the new girl. Guess they figure I've been there enough so I know the ropes. She seems nice so it's ok. Nice is big in my book.
The supervisor sat in on the evaluation today (I guess to be sure I could handle the new girl....no problem, I like teaching). They rotated my leg, just like the Doctor did and they both made that same, painful looking face that the Doctor made when they hear...

I have had a loop recorder for the last 12 months, I will be receiving a pacemaker in a few weeks. What is the suggested gown, tshirt, button up, etc. to wear in the hospital?
And the most comfortable tops to wear the first few days?

OK, tomorrow is my big day..going to get my first pacemaker. I think I have decided on the Micra TPS and to say I'm scared to death is an understatement. Can anyone tell me what the anesthesia is for one of these and what it will feel like the first time it "paces" me? Thanks!!!

My stomach doesn't handle tylenol, so the question is, how long after having you PM implanted can you once again begin to take advil. Not for pain, but for a common headache?

I am a mother of a child that will be having a pacemaker put in very soon. She is a sporty, fit, athletic gymnast. She is looking at working as a gymnastics coach while she studies to be a primary school teacher. She is only 13 but has already set wheels in motion for her future. She currently helps out at her gym as an aid and hopes to start her coaches course in Jan when she turns 14. We hear lots of different stories and my daughter is all about trying anything. She loves scary rides, she no...

Hi, everyone! Is there anyone here who has a pacemaker that still works as a nurse in a hospital? I will really appreciate it of you will share your experiences with me on how you restart working as a nurse after you have your pacemaker? Do hospitals still employ nurses with pacemaker? Thank you.

Hi everyone. I received my first pm on April 25 of this year at the age of 32. I'm sure this is normal but I just noticed today that I have veins wrapping around my pm going towards my arm. No pain or anything and I'm sure they are settling in. I don't recall my Dr. Warning me about that. Is that normal, or should I be concerned?

Hey all, I'm 25 years old and was told this week that I'm going to need a pacemaker. My cardiologist said that I could try to put it off for a little but that the only way to improve my quality of life, and stop being symptomatic was to get the device. I'm just hoping for some insight on how it has affected lives and if I should try to put it off. Im pretty afraid of all of this and I want to make the best decision.
Thank you.
