I had a Biotronk Estella DR PM implanted on July 1. It is set for 60 beats per minute and, when Iâve checked, my pulse now never goes below 60. My question is the following: when my HB exceeds 60, does that mean the PM ceases to work and is activated only when my pulse goes back to below 60, or is it active all the time?

Can't say I have any dire issue lately, just a feeling of unease. BP and pulse generally in the 117/76 P83 area. Episodes of dizziness lately - going thru a number of ear/eye tests for the problem. When the episodes strike, BP and pulse are normal. More like I'm intoxicated rather than a "spinning" sensation. First 30 minutes on the treadmill today were tough-sore legs-- but I was able to put in an hour averaging 2.8mph w/a 1.0 incline. As the workout continued, I felt better. Came home, h...

Hi. I had my first PM installed 2 1/2 weeks ago, and it seems to me that my metabolism has kicked in to high gear. I am a Weight Watchers member, and for obvious reasons have not attended a meeting for 3 weeks until yesterday. During the 2 1/2 months that I have been going, I had lost 16 lbs. at a pretty steady rate. I went yesterday, and imagine my surprise when they told me I had lost 11.8 lbs. more! The ONLY thing about my routine that was different is the pacemaker. Another thing I noticed i...

Hi,
I am a Red Seal Millwright and CWB Certified Welder in BC, Canada. I work at a local pulp mill in BC as a millwright
I received my implant in Dec/2013 and have been on disability benefits since then.
My employer states they cannot have me on site at all, due to potentiality of risk.
I am looking for as much information as I can get on Magnetic Interferences with Pacemakers.
I am fighting to keep my job at this point and need in...

Hello All,
I am almost a year with pacer, it has been a good year overall. Went to dentist yesterday, had normal numbing shot and within 5 minutes (for the first time ever) had a "reaction". My innards felt like they were tumbling and index finger and thumb on left hand had tremors. Almost started to cry it was upsetting.
This lasted for about 10 minutes, dentist did not work on me for another 10 minutes.
Dentist said epinephrine is in numbing agent. Anyone else have this typ...

Hi guys,
I got my pacemaker two weeks ago besides short of air I have been doing GREAT, they adjusted it to 60 which seems to have been working, well tonight I have been having dizzy spells, I am not sure if this is normal during the transitional stage or if I should be more worried. The site doesn't look infected and no fever just dizzy which makes me a little nauseous it does not last long but has been coming an going off and on little discomfort in back and chest but thinking it is more...

I will not go into long detail but never let a cardiologist implant a pacemaker. It is sad there are no official ratings on doctors successful procedures. It does not cost a penny more for the best and the best hospital with your insurance. I do believe they are becoming aware of having the best do it once correct the 1st time is much cheaper than redo's.
I had between July 1 and August 15---- 6 pacemaker surgeries. I let my cardiologist do the 1st 2 and the lead did not last a da...

Hello everyone! I haven't been on in forever and last time I posted I was dealing with a difficult choice of ending my pregnancy due to a diagnosis a stupid cardiologist made incorrectly. I was told I have pulmonary hypertension and that I had a 50 50 chance of survival. Fortunately the doctor was wrong. I went for 2nd and 3rd opinions and the original readings were caused by my pacemaker leads causing a false positive. The first doctor should have immediately informed me and ran more test but...

Does anyone have an indication about a full recovery time with respect to my profession as a seafarer which occasionally might involve climbing a rope ladder joining or leaving a vessel.

At 54 years of age and after a massive HA and ICD implant, I realized I can't take the stress of working anymore and have retired. I haven't had more than a week off at one time in over eight years and so looking forward to some time for me and with my husband. I want to live my life now and worry about money and everything else later.
It's scary but my first 24 hours of retired life have been awesome with a trip to a National Park, some hiking, some sitting and just a wee bit of...

I am feeling good! I had my 3 month clinic check and was asked if I felt my heart racing. Yes I told her and she seems to get concerned when I told her I feel it. It seems the pm reading has captured multiple SVT' events as fast as 200 bpm. So great, I went from complete heart block with no beats to 200... Ugh! I have an appointment next week with cardiologist to discuss. If I am correct, these are just annoying and not necessarily harmful??? I really don't want to be drug dependent,...

I received my first pacemaker 8 days ago; itâs a Boston Scientific dual. After not feeling well for past 6 months, first having shortest of breath while running and being fatigued, to lately be fatigued all the time and easily short of breath. Seeing one Cardiologist twice and both times told there was nothing wrong with my heart, having 3 stress tests and told they were normal. Seeing another cardiologist, who had me wear a heart monitor for 48 hours and getting an appointment with a speci...

Hello.
My name is Robert and I am 27 years old. I just a pacemaker put in 2 days ago. I was born with congenital heart disease (transposition) and had the pacemaker put in due to sick sinus syndrome. I have been reading stuff on these forums ever since I found out I was getting one to try and learn about what I could expect. I have a few questions and things I want to talk about and this community seems like a great resource.
So right after I got my surgery I started feelin...

hey has anybody had any problems with defib/pacemaker playing electric guitar? Never thought about it b/4 but thinking about getting one and the pick ups would be pretty close to my implant sitting down. Any thoughts or experiences would be appreciated.

Hi,
I have a Sorrin esprite dual lead PM.
This morning at 6am I woke from a deep sleep felt a little strange at first as if my HR was very low and then my HR was pounding at 120, only lasted a minute or two, and then went back to normal. Strange but this happens now and then usually around 2, 4 and 6am and never at any other times or during the day when resting.
Any thoughts??

I have not been nominated yet, but it is wise for folk with PM/ICD?
Possibly not!
