Retired - Finally

At 54 years of age and after a massive HA and ICD implant, I realized I can't take the stress of working anymore and have retired. I haven't had more than a week off at one time in over eight years and so looking forward to some time for me and with my husband. I want to live my life now and worry about money and everything else later.

It's scary but my first 24 hours of retired life have been awesome with a trip to a National Park, some hiking, some sitting and just a wee bit of wine.

My new motto - Live now - pay later.

The first couple of years of retirement flew by! We did a lot of traveling, then somewhat settled into a routine.

I know you will love it! You will wonder how you got everything done when you were working!

Still going

Like you I had to take early retirement. Just after my 60th birthday I had my ICD fitted. Felt a bit strange at first but after a time I got to accept my ICD and now it seems a normal part of me. I have travelled all over Europe since then and am enjoying life to the full at 77 years old.I have had my unit for 16 years and have had three replacements in that time. ENJOY-ENJOY-ENJOY

Congrats Marie

I had to retire early too a few years back.

Enjoy this new phase of your life. So much more is yet to come.

It's nice to hear from you.

A friend at work says his father always said the last check he ever wrote would be the undertaker...... and it would bounce!!

You know you're wired when...

You have a shocking personality.
