electric guitar

hey has anybody had any problems with defib/pacemaker playing electric guitar? Never thought about it b/4 but thinking about getting one and the pick ups would be pretty close to my implant sitting down. Any thoughts or experiences would be appreciated.

Jam away!

I've played guitar most of my life. Just bought a new PRS SE Custom 24...the pacers made today are not that sensitive to magnetic or EMF issues. Cell phones don't bother them either...so jam away dude!

magnets

Magnets can cause problems but they have to be large (larger than what a lot of amps are) and we generally have to be within 6" of it. I would suggest trying it out before you buy. It's probably fine, you'll know right away if it's not. It's not at all dangerous, btw, very worst you'll feel like you do when they test it. As soon as we get away from the interference, it goes back to full function.

Strap Pad

The magnets are not going to be a problem unless you are sticking your body into the amp cab to get feedback like Jimi Hendrix-

The biggest problem I had was getting a pad for the strap- my Jazz Bass weighs about 9 pounds and the strap hit right on the PM-

So play on Dude-

You know you're wired when...

You have a T-shirt that reads “Wired4Sound”.

I'm 35 and got my pacemaker a little over a year ago. It definitely is not a burden to me. In fact, I have more energy (which my husband enjoys), can do more things with my kids and have weight because of having the energy.
