I had my pacemaker put in June 14. I have atrial fibrillation and very low heart rate. I'm healing well and adjusting to the new life. My heart rate can't be below 60 and reading other posts I understand that's just about standard. 135 is my maximum. I'm 68, a widow and I live alone.
Pretty much unexpectedly I find myself in a position where I need to know about having sex. My owner's manual suggests it is something to bring up with the dr., I don't see the dr for another 4 w...

So I'm 17 years old and you're probably thinking its a bit young for me to need support but I just need a friend to talk to. I was 7 months old when I first had my pacemaker fitted and I have had 3 operations and I am schedueled for another replacement next year. I lost my brother due to congenital heart block, which is what I also have. None of my family or friends have a pacemaker or know anyone with a pacemaker, and I always feel alone about it as if I'm different because there are a lot of a...

My son has been passing out since he was 12. He is now 38 and has had his pacemaker for 9 years. That is how long it took then to figure out what was wrong with him. They told him he had Brugada, (Sudden Death Syndrome) and was lucky to have surrvied for 15 years before they found it. He has worked at a manufacting company for 18 years and the new doctor at Duke says if he wants to live he can't keep working there because the machines create so much electricity currents in the air and because of...

Finding your club is giving me some hope. I cannot go braless and I don't want to stop my tennis & active life. The comments by members concerning the bra strap and what to do is very helpful. So as I am recovering from all the soreness & just having this foreign thing in my body, I hope to discover what is best for me so that I...

If I have a slow rate, say 40 and I have a PM set with a 60 minimum, what happens when the PM fires because I'm running slow? My heart is still running at 40 so it will fire again soon after. Why don 't I wind up with an irregular cadence and a rate closer to 100? (40 plus 60?)
Maybe a dumb question.

Hi, I'm new to the club and have a few questions. Here is my situation. Seventeen years ago at age 54 I had five bypasses. Fortunately I did not have a heart attach. I regularly have both radiation or treadmill stress tests.
I have had PVCs for years and they don't really bother me, but now they have increased to 38% of my heart beats. Sometimes three in a row. The doctors are concerned. This week they attempted to ablate them and were unsuccessful. When mapping the ventricle they found a...

Hello Everyone
Hope Y'all feel as good or better than I. I've had my PM nine months now and thank the Good Loard every day.
What do Y'all know about arc welding with a PM. I have an Airco AC stick weder which I have need to use. My Doc said I should be OK to weld but so far I've been chicken to try.
Thanks

Hi I just got a crt-d two weeks ago and joined this club a few days ago. I would like to order a few items from the store. It says that worldwide shipping is available. I just wanted to confirm this because the USD8 shipping charge for manila seems a bit low. On paypal there was no button for international shipping though my address was clearly indicated. Thank you.

After a winter season of unexplained lightheadedness and feeling occasionally out of it, I embarked on 6 months of doctor visits and a PM for bradycardia in Feb.; 6 "rec room" procedures [hysterectomy, hernia, & various prolapses] done in one surgery in July, and am now flying high and happy - having passed all my post-op checkups with flying colors.
I am now walking up the road hills in the dunes every day, starting core exercises, and going back to hydro strength classes at the gym...

First post.
68 years old in good shape. Run, ski, hike. Still working.
Have 2x aflutter and also slow rate sometimes in the 40s.
Aflutter is generally under control with beta blocker but also take Xeralto blood thinner. Doc says I am stable so no rush but my HR will probably slow to an unacceptable rate in a few years.
So what do I do?
Doc recommends ablation and PM when I am ready.
The upside is I get off the drugs, esp the blood thinner.
He makes no promis...

I was at an event that had live music the other weekend. At the time I had only had my PM for just over 2 weeks. While I was there, watching, I felt a pinching feeling in the area of my pacemaker. It seemed to happen along with the bass. I only stayed for the one song, and as soon as the song was over, it stopped. I wasn't any where near the front, or close to a speaker. I asked my Dr about it, and he just said as long as I am not near a magnet, it's not a problem. I love to go see live music, b...
