advice

I had my pacemaker put in June 14. I have atrial fibrillation and very low heart rate. I'm healing well and adjusting to the new life. My heart rate can't be below 60 and reading other posts I understand that's just about standard. 135 is my maximum. I'm 68, a widow and I live alone.

Pretty much unexpectedly I find myself in a position where I need to know about having sex. My owner's manual suggests it is something to bring up with the dr., I don't see the dr for another 4 weeks or so and sure don't want to give a cold call to the staff. Are there specific guidelines I need to be aware of? Thank you for any help, truly. Karen in Az

If you're cleared for exercise, you can do any activity you feel up to.

Don't worry. You won't pull out a lead or dislodge the PM. Your pacemaker is no impediment at all. In fact, it's providing a safety net you wouldn't otherwise have.

Enjoy all the possibilities your PM has opened to you.
