6 weeks ago today received my PM, everything seems to be going good, and I feel a lot better. I go today for my first Interrogation. Kind of excited about it. Curious on what they say.
Purpose of my post though is, yesterday me and my husband were pulling our camper down a very bumpy road. My heart started to race. I told him that and he looked at me crazy. So I pulled out my monitor that I have on my phone and my HR was 98. I was just sitting in the passenger seat, bouncy with the road....

Got a question. I'm over 4 months post PM implantation 2 lead dual chamber for SSS/ Brady.... Here the last few days I've been getting what feels like bee stings in the upper right corner of the PM... My settings is at 50bpm. Every time I check my pulse it is right at 49/50.... I'm getting ready to make a road trip and wanted to kinda figure this out prior. Thanks for any input..

Two weeks ago I had aflutter ablation and implant of a dual lead pacemaker. I still have discomfort from the pm surgery but also since surgery have had more irregular and rapid heartbeats than before the surgeries. My doctors and nurses say this is totally normal following these procedures and will last for 1-3 months after. They are now saying I should have the "big" ablation on the other side. I also have COPD. Would appreciate any comments. Thank you!

Hello PaceMakerClub!
I truly am looking for information regarding dental cleaning and the uses of a cavitron during a cleaning.
Dental hygiene schools will always tell us "hygiene students" to never use a cavitron,, I am told over and over by cardiologists that yes a cavitron can be used. (I read yes you can or no you can't....)
A cavitron is a device that sprays water and has a high pitch sound that will helps remove plaque and tartar.
I wanted to as...

My Mom received a new St. Jude's pacemaker replacement in 5/14. We finally received the transmitter in the mail. Upon trying to set it up, we realized that it is not compatible with a digital telephone line (only landline), which she does not own.
When I called St. Jude's, I was informed that she would have (2) options: (1) either pay a monthly fee of $16.99 for a device that plugs into the transmitter, with a 3-year contract, or (2) pay a flat fee of $450 for an ethernet device...
Glucosamine supplement

I am thinking of taking something that might help with my tendonitis pain/discomfort in my wrist area and glucosamine comes to mind.
I have a pacemaker for heart block (no symptoms apart from heart going very slow when I was asleep) and I'm on no medication. Does anyone have any experience of taking glucosamine and is there any chance it could effect my heart, maybe cause palpitations or tachycardia?
Thanks

Hi
my cardio is thinking of removing my pacemaker after 11.5 years, the reason being that I was originally paced on solotal which lead to bradycardia and I was left on this for 4.5 months before a 24hr tape was done, I had 5 second pauses I was taken straight into hospital, doctors were not sure what to do and I was left on a heart monitor for 3 weeks before getting fitted with my pacemaker. I have several different drugs which did not help. I then had 2 ablations for AF the last one wa...

Hey guys! I wanted to see if there were any other youngins with pacers. I got mine a month ago and I am almost cleared to raise my arm and resume normal activity. I'm just looking for other people who are experiencing the same things as I am. I am a little worried about what it is going to be like when I resume exercise. Any words of advice, encouragement, support, empathy, are welcome.

Just had my pacemaker replaced on Thursday. The model is from 2006. Is that normal to use a pacemaker that old?

Awesomeness... After 18 years in the ARMY and about a year and a half wait, I have recieved my percentages from VA and the ARMY for my PM. I get 10% and severence pay. They won't let me stay for 20 years and robbing me of my 20 year retirement. Anyone hiring, looks like I need a job before December.

Hi All, thank for all your responses to my previous post, very helpful and re-assuring. I have a planned procedure date of this wednesday. I am 49 otherwise healthy male. Run minium of three times a week and generally very active, absolutely no symptoms. Went for a well man clinic in UK in December last year. Was originally diagnosed with complete heart block on the back of a 10 second ECG. Insisted on another ECG there and then and was told I had Wenkebach 2nd Degree heart block which is unlikl...

I've heard they can interfere but they can't cause a mode switch or reset anything ...can they? What happened in Nashvegas is staying there but it did involve close proximity to speakers into the wee hours.
Thank You

Yesterday was my one year anniversary of a v tach episode that resulted in implant of ICD on July 3/13.
I would like to thank everyone on this site for the support, guidance and advice provided as I faced this first year journey. It has been invaluable in getting me through this year. So many questions answered that the medical field did not provide or dismissed. Very grateful to have found this site.
I realize the majority of people here have pacemakers and I can contri...

Hi everyone
This is my first post, due to have pacemaker fitted on Wednesday after discovering I had an episode of 3rd degree heart block at night. No other symptoms, original problem picked up during a Well Man clinic. I've come to terms with need for a pacemaker however I do have many questions. In the short term I am concerned about Placement. I am very active and really want the pacemaker positioned under the muscle and therefore not so obvious? I guess I am just a little vain but...

I just got a pacemaker implanted two days ago. I am still in the shock stage since I have been very healthy. I am quite overweight but shock the doctors every time they run tests because I am so "normal". No diabetes, slight high blood pressure but that's controlled with meds, no high cholesterol, etc.
Anyway, I've had fainting episodes in the past but most of them have had an explanation. Like the site of blood or shock over traumatic news. Two or three times there was no explanatio...

My personal pity party is over. Here is why.... As a director, I had to deliver news to a group of 60 associates that one of our own had passed away. She was only 60 and had a massive heart attack. What wake up call! So as I start my day today, I fully appreciate my new "thumper" who is my life partner. I hope that anyone out here who has been feeling down will read this and realize what a wonderful gift we have been given... A second chance to live our life to the fullest. Unfortunatel...

I've seen many posts about people being concerned about exercise after having a device so thought I would let you know that yesterday I raced my first marathon since having my pacemaker fitted in fall 2004.
