Hi
my cardio is thinking of removing my pacemaker after 11.5 years, the reason being that I was originally paced on solotal which lead to bradycardia and I was left on this for 4.5 months before a 24hr tape was done, I had 5 second pauses I was taken straight into hospital, doctors were not sure what to do and I was left on a heart monitor for 3 weeks before getting fitted with my pacemaker. I have several different drugs which did not help. I then had 2 ablations for AF the last one was a success.
I how have suspected multiple sclerosis which I need a MRI scan, as my pacemaker maybe not necessary they want to run atrial of a DDI pacing with a lower rate of 30
I need to see the doctor to discuss this in 10 days - does any one know about this pacing trial they want to do and for how long my generator is approaching ERI, so something will need to be done soon.

Sorry to hear about the possible MS. My mother died a number of years ago from MS so I am very familiar with the disease. And by the way, she did very, very well with it. You are a bit old for an MS diagnosis so let's hope you don't have it!
A lower rate of 30 is really low; interesting. I know nothing of the pacing trial.
When you had your original PM 11 years ago, I don't know if they had the MRI compatible types but they do now. My device is by Medtronics and I can have MRIs with it. That would be a good solution for you especially since you really need an MRI for a neurologist to diagnose or rule out MS.
Let us know what happens.
