Weird sensation

I have been doing great since my last sugery which was on April 4.... I had an ablation, lead extraction, and pacemaker revision. The first few days were awful, but have been feeling great since. I had some minor hiccups, but nothing of great concern. However, yesterday I was eating dinner with a friend when I started to feel weird. Let me elaborate on weird.... I felt like I was having tachycardic episodes, with some skipped beats about every five beats. I had a hungover feeling, and something...

Went for my 2nd PM check and 1st Dr. visit after PM!! All is going well. Dr. was kind of amazed at how much better I was doing saying he puts them in hoping to help them sometimes they work and the patient feels better sometimes they don't see any improvement. In my case I am so thankful to my dr., modern technology and the fact they finally f...

June is almost here and soon after near the end of August I will celebrate my 1 year... Am I being over sensitive by saying that my little friend was the best thing to happen to my health in the last 10 years I have been alive?

I truly want to thank you all. Those of you that put up with my ranting on how the VA is taking forever (actually VA is slower than my bradycardia ever was) and how I feel lost and scared.

Needing some advice

Tomorrow I have my first post implant appointment. Had my surgery on the 16th. The last two mornings when I have gotten up from bed I have been so dizzy I literally fell back on the bed. I had to sit a few minutes, then get up real slow. Never was dizzy before, I would just get real light headed and just about black out. Could this be a setting issue? I have no clue what it could be..maybe from being so sick after implant? I also have had no appetite since my pm. I am guessing the doctor...

Seriously??? Warning....rant

Got a really snotty letter from the pacer clinic stating I have missed multiple home monitoring appointments and to send the monitor back to ST Judes. No kidding, I was in Cali when they scheduled the first one, Cali again the next month, then in Fl when they scheduled the last one. They keep sending letters ordering me to download on a specific day, no one asked me about MY schedule. Like I am supposed to stay home and download my pm instead of traveling? Are these people for real? As the ultim...

speeding pacemaker

Hi,
My dad has had a pacemaker for quite a while. It is set at 60 and sometimes will go up to 80. Today it went to 115! He went to the emergency room and they told him sometimes this happens, but no other explanation. They did say if it gets to 150 then there is a problem. They gave him a Clear pill to put under his tongue and to take for three days. ( He lives in florida and live in Maryland). He doesn't know what the pill is called. Any one else ever experience this?

Thanks,

New recipient/member

Hello Everyone! May I just introduce myself? I'm Glyn, a (very young) 53 yr old man from Chester in the UK who a week ago received a Pacemaker.
This came as a bit of a shock at first being a very fit and active person. However, due to bouts of light-headedness, I decided to visit my Doctor who was a tad concerned that my resting beats per minute was dropping to the low 30's!

Everything appears to be going well - shoulder discomfort practically gone and movement improving every da...

Feeling human again

So in the past 5 days since my pm was put in I have felt like I was hit by a truck. Fever is now gone and cough is also almost gone. I see the cardiologist on Friday to get the stitches out and check to see how thumper is doing. I am feeling so much better today! I love my cardiologist. Have never seen anyone but him. He has not had me see his assistant, and even called me at home to see how I was feeling after being in the ER Monday. Feeling thankful this morning..

Do they make a pill for stupidity?

...because I need one. I shoulda stayed home.

I went to the gym today, right after I had my annual eye exam at the Ophthalmologist office. I was in the "big boys room", you know, with all the free weights and bigger machines. Nothing new, I use them all the time now. I was on the Gravitron 2000 machine and when I stepped down, I stepped right onto a 25 lb. round plate weight that was sitting half under the machine.

Well down I went as my foot planted half on, half o...

Giant Hemotoma Question Also still hard to breathe

Hey All ~ Well over past 12 days it's kinda been hell :( Two trips to ER then at 1 week check-up I'm told that the Ventricle lead was firing but not sending a message so next day they schedule another surgery to reposition. During procedure my shoulder was moving on the ER table (while under anesthesia) and then my heart kept racing each time he tried to move the lead so he pulled the lead completely out and let my heart rest for 15 or so minutes then repostitioned it and kept me overnight in CC...

Of course I still remember you!!!!!!!!!!!

Someone else mentioned that this past month has been like a reunion. I'm so glad so many "old" members are still here or came back like I did.

From time to time I think we all need to take a little break for whatever reason(s), but coming back here (for me) is like coming home....I feel so comfortable and wanted and sometimes even needed. I will never be able to thank Blake, the Admin, enough for starting this site so many years a...

SVT's and stress

Hi,
I posted earlier this month re SVT's as a new problem following a pacemaker for SSS, sinus bradycardia and sinus pauses. The pacemaker check showed clusters of SVT's. I had a 48 hour holter a couple of weeks later thanks to going to A & E. That has shown nothing much so I've basically been told dont worry about it via the secretary of the Cardiologist I saw for about 5 mins.
I continue to have dizzy spells intermitently on a regular basis but yet nothing is likely to happen to help...

i had a cardio resynchronization procedure and defibrillator implanted 3 weeks ago. im still confused about defibrillator and pacemaker differences. i am also wondering what it means to be pacing at 97%? seems folks on here talk about 100 but i dont know if that refers to pacemaker.
im new to this. have an appointment in 2 weeks but thought id ask here. so many of you seem to understand this so much better than i do. i have learned so much from these readings and comments but have so...
