Not a good day

Spent the day in the ER today. PM implanted Friday. I am coughing so bad I was afraid I moved the leads. X-ray reveals all is good. They send me home with cough medicine. Now I have a 102 fever.... Not a happy camper.

I'm sorry you're not feeling well that sucks! glad nothing got pulled. did they say what was wrong?? sounds like maybe a virus or bronchitis?? try making a tea out of lemon and honey it soothes your throat. Take it easy for a while and I hope you get feeling better soon--(((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))) and prayers your way for a speedy recovery.

I seem to catch something every time I'm in the hospital. All those sick people! Feel better.

A fever of 102 needs to be taken seriously

I would get in to see my GP if I were you. That's an awfully high fever for someone that JUST got a PM. In addition, your body is a bit more vulnerable since you just had your surgery. Please rest and be patient. Many in the club (we sound so important, don't we!?!) had rocky beginnings so you're jot alone.

Hospital Germs!

I had the same problem back in March when I had my adrenal gland removed (PM was installed back in October so that was not an issue for me). I coughed so much that I couldn't cough anymore because I got too weak (and I am a very active 44 yr old) and my temp was between 101-102. After several calls to my PC she finally called in a prescription for augmenten for me. It took about 4-6 weeks to recover from that surgery mostly because I had brought home the hospital bug. Take it easy and get well soon!
