Hi all!

Been feeling down and out the last few days. Ended up in the ER Monday. There were no beds at the transplant center, so they just doped me up and sent me home with a ton of morphine. The past couple nights I been waking up with bad chest pains and unable to breath. As to why this is going on, I have no idea. The ER check show nothing bad, but I been feeling drained for about a week now. No extra body fluid.

I will be heading to New Orleans at 5:30 am. Have an appointment at 7:30 and I...

I <3 my cardiologist!

I've had some funky beats the last few days so I called this morning. Was put on hold for about 3 min, got to my dr's nurse (as opposed to the one who takes general calls for the practice). She sent a text to the NP who sees me with my dr (they work as a team). She called me back, said my rep was across the street at the hospital seeing someone else and would wait for me, could I come right in. The rep was waiting when I got there, the NP popped in while he was doing his thing. One hour and 45 m...

Please help...has anyone had this?

Dear All
Please can I ask if anyone has had anything like this?

I had an AV node ablation in October. Since then I've had 3 episodes of non sustained ventricular tachycardia (2 found recently on PM download, I felt a fast heart rate both times). That is not my question though.

Before the AV node ablation I was 100% atrial paced as my sinus node was damaged by 2 ablations near it. Since the AV node ablation I am now 100% ventricle paced too.

Got a pacemaker Friday

Got a pacemaker

Comment posted by Larry R on 2013-02-13 15:32.

Hello: Last Friday I got a Medtronics Revo pacemaker put in. So far the recovery has been fine. My symptoms were bradycardia, PVC's and sick sinus. My normal pulse when sitting was 49 to 50. But it would fall to 35 during the night. I never did pass out, but recently I had several bouts when I really thought I would pass out, including while I was driving. They have set the baseline for me at 70 bpm. I think th...

New to this group

I needed to read what others were going through with their pacemakers. After reading many posts, I think I am unique.

I don't feel any different. Mine was an emergency insert as I was having episodes so unlike my vertigo. My heart rate was going in the 20s and 30s and stopping during the night. A pacemaker was decided on.

I have had no real issues with it other than the discomfort of sleeping on only one side. Pain has been very minimal (I wanted and needed only Tylenol whi...

Living Will

This fall the NY Times published an article about a man who was terminally ill and with advanced stage dementia.
He had never given instructions as to how to treat him when dying.
The medical team did everything they knew to prolong his life.
The prolonged ,over time, emotional and financial effects on his family were awful.
I had my lawyer add to my "Living Will and Healthcare Proxy" the following phrase: "I do not want mechanical or electrical cardiac pacing".
I don't c...

Heart Rate Variation After Stents

I had my rate response PM (DDDR) installed Sept. 2012. Since then, Dec. 2012, I had 8 stents installed -- everything went fine -- resulting in more regular heart beat, stronger heart beat, better blood flow, etc.

There seems to be a change, since the stents, in how my heart rate runs.

Now, if I sit still my heart rate runs at the 70 bpm lower setting. If I get up and start walking around (or on tread mill), everything is fine if I walk slowly (up to about 90 bpm), but whe...

I am just grateful to God that I lived long enough to have my ICD put in. So many people are not as lucky as us; even though we sometimes don't feel lucky.
