I have had my PM for almost 15 months. I have been using a long bodypillow since then, and it works great!!

I Got my ICD implanted 11-27-12. Sleeping on my back was also a tough thing for me. However, I would quickly fall asleep after taking my pain pills before bed! The pain pills knocked me out! have you tried that?

Pillow

I sleep on my stomach so it was a nightmare when I had my ICD placed. What I did was hold a pillow in my left arm on my left side in front of me. This way I could sleep on my stomach somewhat and not worry about hurting myself if I put too much pressure on the site.

I have a small travel pillow. Tuck it under my left arm when I'm on my back. Hug it in front when on my right side. Sleeping on my left side doesn't work for me anymore. It used to be my favorite position. Didn't take long to retrain myself into a new habit - one I can 'live' with. Showed "Sparky"my I'm still boss.

Water pillow

I use a water pillow because it forms to my body. I sleep only left side and it was so hard to sleep. The water pillow is expensive but worth it.
