Got a pacemaker

Hello: Last Friday I got a Medtronics Revo pacemaker put in. So far the recovery has been fine. My symptoms were bradycardia, PVC's and sick sinus. My normal pulse when sitting was 49 to 50. But it would fall to 35 during the night. I never did pass out, but recently I had several bouts when I really thought I would pass out, including while I was driving. They have set the baseline for me at 70 bpm. I think that is too fast, 60 bpm seems like it would be better. I stayed one night at the hospital and before I was realesed, the doc and the tech from Medtonics came in and "read" my PM. They made an adjustment or two and left. Soon after they left, the PVC warning on my monitor went off twice. It had not done that until then. I had the nurse contact my doctor and he said not to worry. Has anyone else had this phenonom occur? I am due to go back soon to the doctor for a checkup and of course will ask then. Comments are welcome. Thanks, Larry

sounds like me last year. 45 -48 awake and 31 was the lowest
my pm base is at 60 now
i didn't make it a week before I was in the ER
they said the heart and the pm must have fired to close
felt like heart jumped out of my chest
3 weeks later went in for follow up they had to tuned down on the ramping. a lite walk an I was doing 110 now about 90ish. been 8 months still hanging around

I got the same model and all 77% on my upper 0% on lower
Maybe your phenomom is just that body has to get adapted to your PM thou 70 is a high start doesn't hurt to ask

...........................pretty well everyone will go home with 'Factory Setting',..and that will ensure that you will wake up and greet the dawn just like the beasts in the field and the birds in the air.

As in, alive.

When you go for your review..tell them how you feel,..what you can / cannot do / what you want to do....good Techies ..( and they are all kind of nerdish )..really want to be the best from their 'subjects'.

People in Medicine,..like in all Professions are very competitve and , before their peers , really do not want to be seen as unsuccesful.

Larry, I think that if you tell them information that they can respond to....you may well get a good outcome.

Keep notes and make sure that you are heard.

I got my pacer in 2005. I was sent home set at 50bpm. This was too slow so my Dr. bumped me up to 70bpm. He said the only problem would be if I couldn't sleep. This has been no problem I have been at 70 since. Feeling great. Bowlrbob

You know you're wired when...

I have a well tuned pacer. I hardly know I have it. I am 76 year old, hike and camp alone in the desert. I have more energy than I have had in a long time. The only problem is my wife wants to have a knob installed so she can turn the pacer down.
