I understand that the world is going to end on Friday. Does anybody know what time it's going to happen ?
I'm trying to arrange a game of golf and I don't know whether to book it in the morning or the afternoon.
Can anyone help please ?

As a newbie here I need some help in my pacemaker decision:
My history is I am a fit 72 yr old who has had a slow resting pulse for many years, now 40 BPM. About 12 mths ago I had an EKG as a routine rest for hospital admission for eye surgery, this showed a resting pulse of 33 PPM & caused the hospital to request I got a cardiologist to clear me for the hospital admission & operation. The cardiologist cleared me OK & op went off OK as he commented he thought I had an athletes heart which...

Do pacemakers have a self check function? I had my pacemaker replaced earlier this year. At 10.45pm every night I get a brief series of heartbeats that feel as if they are being made by my pacemaker. Is this normal?
Constriction and a tightening.

I have had my PM for a couple of years now without any major issues, other than the teething problems intially. But, once with the help of my good friends here, I had it set where I wanted, it was smooth sailing until now.
In the recent months, I get this constricting feeling, accompanied by involuntary coughing...its the feeling I get when I am having my PM check up and they adjust the settings for testing...it goes away after a while.
My Cardiologist claims it normal, since I have n...

Good Morning All. It has been a while. I see Electric Frank is still pacing everyone. What an inspiration for all on this board. It is has been an eventful time for me, including job elimination, finding a new job, working three days and having an accute Gall Bladder attack, leading to its removal and demise... much to my relief.
But one thing happened that made me want to YELL to everyone on this board, don't ever let your guard down....
I went to the hospital at 4:30am on...

Hi! I'm 23 years old (really age doesn't matter, with this type of thing I guess) I have 2 children; 1 & 4 and I'm getting a pacemaker placed this Friday morning, I'm very nervous, for one I've never had surgery before in my life so that is just a scary thought to me to begin with. Although, with me being as scared and nervous as I am, I'm kinda excited to start living normally again, if that's normal haha! I was diagnosed at 15 with P.O.T syndrome and was told I would out grow it by 18 well 18...

A farmer named Paddy had a car accident. He was hit by a truck owned by the Eversweet Company.
In court, the Eversweet Company's hot-shot solicitor was questioning Paddy.
'Didn't you say to the police at the scene of the accident, 'I' m fine?' asked the solicitor.
Paddy responded: 'Well, I'll tell you what happened. I'd just loaded my fav'rit cow, Bessie, into da... '
'I didn't ask for any details', the solicitor interrupted. 'Just answer the question. Di...

A man walked out to the street and caught a taxi just going by.
He got Into the taxi, and the cabbie said,
"Perfect timing. You 're just like "Brian!
Passenger: "Who?"
Cabbie: "Brian Sullivan. He 's a guy who did everything right all the time. Like my coming along when you needed a cab, things happen like that to Brian Sullivan, every single time."
Passenger: "There are always a few clouds over everybody."
Cabbie: "Not...

ReWired, et al: I have deleted the original post, without prejudice. Ian's post yesterday was deleted, along w/ all the following comments, after the tenor of the follow on comments indicated that a full-fledged name calling & flame war was about to ensue.
I asked that any "Hate Mail" you had for me be sent via PM. I received no msgs that I categorized as "Hate Mail," however, I rec'd one from a Connecticut resident of a town not far from the massacre site. That member echoed what...

Due for replacement of my Biotronik single lead pm.probably around April 2013. What should I expect? During these past 7 years I have never known that I even have a pm, I have never felt it. Only problem I had was a very ugly keloid at the incision site, I assuming the surgeon can clean that up when He implants new device. Anyone have any feel for life of current devices? Pm rep says 14 years, (but He is a salesman) Im assuming replacement will be same manufacturer, as that's about all my Cardio...

I wouldn't be alive if it wasn't for pacemakers. I've had mine for 35+ years. I was fainting all of the time and had flat-lined also. I feel very blessed to live in this time of technology.
