I would get a couple of independent opinions from qualified and certified EP cardiologists and go with the most pessimistic to be on the safe side.

......Kate......I will never leave you, infection , or not.
Now THAT is love ...!!
I asked my Surgeon if I could have my old PM as a souvenier, and he said ..."sorry no..we give then to Vets"
So,,TM here has a Porcine Aortic Valve and a reduntant PM......So, TM has a sick Pet Pig.that the Vet gives my old redundant PM.
Come on guys..I'm looking for a higher intellect than Descartes or Bertrand Russell to explain this little conundrum away.

Prof TM..mortar board and gown...
Kate...we could stage a great 'back and white' movie where the heroine goes about ripping pacemakers out of unsuspecting itinerants..so they could be re-implanted by blood soaked Vets into weepy eyed donkeys.
A good name for a donkey, ..by the way is IAN

Tattoo Man, if you have your pacemaker removed will you still chat with us?
By the way, how the heck did you get that bloody infection? I hope it's cleared up by now.
Ian will be lost without you!!!!!
Texmex did your EP give you the option to have it removed, or are you having some second thoughts here.
Please let us know.

Hey Tatto Man,
Before I start, I want you to know, my Christmas wish has been answered........ you're staying with us.
As far as staging a great "black and white" movie, I'll have to renew my SAG and get back in touch with you.
Leave poor Ian alone, don't you know the other name for a donkey is Jack....
Heading down to Florida tonight to visit my mother for Christmas, so I'll be out of communication for a few hours.

There is an American guy on here .... ebfox ...who had his removed recently . If you look him up in the Member list you will find relevant postings . A regular UK poster....Tattoo Man.... may be having his removed, so, yes, it does happen.
Why do you ask ? Are you one of the lucky ones ?

We've had a few members have them removed for different reasons. One had an infection and later had it replaced. One had complications from an ablation and needed it for a while but eventually no longer needed it. How you'd do depends on why you need it and how much you use it.
