Hi, I was just wondering if anyone else has a child with complete heart block, who also lives in Canada?

Did anyone see Homeland last night on Showtime. Imagine my surprise when I saw a duplicate of the box I use to check my pacemaker being used by terrorist to kill the vice president making his heart stop. Wow. Is this really possible?
How are the following folks?

Hi all, my name is Sally, I'm an 18 year student and I had my pacemaker fitted three years ago. I've decided in July to climb Kilimanjaro (the highest mountain in Africa) for a charity called Hope For Children helping to clothe, feed, house and educate homeless children.
A lot of people say I'm crazy for doing this with a pacemaker, but I know it's been done before (although not by someone as young as me) and I'm determined not only to raise money but also awareness that you really ca...

Just checking in. Been hanging in there. My fight is over with the Hickman tube. It was infected inside. Every day that I flushed it, I was pushing the infection in me. Spent 5 days in the hospital and had a replacement hickman tube put it. So, I'm still hooked up to my dog leach. The doctors will not let me get off the Dobutamine, knowing that within two days without it, I crash big time.
Anyway, as of the 25 of Nov, I'm without a job. My health insurance ended Nov 30. So I'm without...

Hi ALL,
I am new to the site, and this month will mark my one year anniversary since having my medtronic dual chamber pacemaker put in. I must say it has been quite the journey too. But lately I have been getting very lighted headed and dizzy to the point I have to LAY DOWN to regain myself. The last few days have been worse with the same symptoms along with nausea and a headache and just not feeling right. I was taking midodrine but that hasn't seemed to help. Anyone else ever have t...

I'm 75 yeas old and have been in good health all my life. I've had 1st degree heart block for approximately 7 years and about 3 months ago while driving, I had a near syncope episode which took me to ER. The EKG showed that my 1st degree HB had converted to 2nd degree HB " Mobitz 1". My symptoms ever since have been dizziness, palpitations, and occasional shortness of breath which are typical, however, I've had episodes of nausea and headaches as well. My EP tells me that these symptoms are not...

Hi everyone!!
I need some help here.
Has anyone here from England that has been refused to have a driving licence??!!
I've just got a letter from DVLA saying that my application for a driving licence was refused because according to them:
"It is clear from information received taht you have been experiencing symptomatic abnormal heart rhythm and the liability to further attacks is not satisfactorily controlled. This indicates your inability currently to meet the recomme...

I am happy that my Medtronics Pacemaker is keeping me alive.
I am unhappy because now that I owe my Cardiologist too much money I have basically been "kicked to the curb". I can't get the pacemaker checked any longer so I am kind of hoping someone can tell me if Medtronics has any "free" technicians in Ohio. Funny Huh? I get the pacemaker and the Hospital, Cardiologists and Techs get the Lion's share of money from my Insurance company and now I'm stuck with a piece of hardware that is no...

Hi, I am new to the club, I had a bad week so far, on Monday I was told that I am scheduled for a PM in January, this sounds scary. I have also been sick with sinus infection since last Tuesday, yesterday I was diagnosed with Whoopingcough. Feels like all is falling apart. I would like to know what the recovery period is after the PM op.

this is the 9th month after my pacemaker was installed.
I must say i dont have much problem and doing fine.
I went for a recent checkup.
I was informed that my pacemaker is being used 86% now and it was around 20% 3 months ago during my last visit.
The technician also told me that this is normal and nothing to be afraid of.
He said they call it bossing, which means the pacemaker kinds of take up the whole responsibility of pacing after a certain amount of time.
Is t...

About a month ago i wrote on here talking about my plight with my family. It has been an up hill battle. As of june my medtronic pacer (dual) said i had 10 months. My doc looked at me and said make that six. Because this model has been way off in the past. so now its dec. Six months is almost here. No insurance so of course the doc stop calling. Plus it didnt help that i dont want a pacer cange anyway. Took me 9 years to get use to the thing. Between the loud amps and bases in cars...ooo how th...

I am onto my 2nd pacemaker now and have no problems with it really except for trapped wind sometimes underneath it which is a bit painful.
joked with my consultant when i was on the op table and was actually off the machines and pacing myself even though it was faint i managed to keep it going until the new pacemaker was implanted.
I have a gold plated pacemaker because i am allergic to titanium which when I had my first one implanted in 2004 from the hospital in Kirkcaldy, Fife, Scotl...

As a yoga teacher, I say that it's about time science caught up with what yogis have known for centuries. It's never been possible to harness the energy in the human body unless you practice meditation for years and years. Even then, it's only a select few that can achieve this state of consciousness. Now it looks like it may be possible for everyone in the near future! I love technology! Carol

malltura here: I had a history of 5 years of A-fib which became permanent. Prior to that they implanted a St Jude Algorithmic pacer to help me.
In August I underwent an 8 hour heart ablation procedure. Now in November I am in NSR with a normal at rest pulse of 70 with a BP of 110 over 70 at age 70.
I take no meds or blood thinners now and life is very good compared to the last terrible 5 A-fib years. I am back to normal! I think I am one of the very lucky ones as I have pos...

Just had a pacemaker implanted in August. Recently I drove to California from Colorado and got to thinking.... should I worry about airbags? I was told not to play "tackle football" but wouldn't the impact from an airbag be just as bad?
Thanks for any answers you may give.

I wasn't really self-conscious about it. I didn't even know I had one until around six or seven years old. I just thought I had a rock in my side.
