Good morning everyone

Just checking in. Been hanging in there. My fight is over with the Hickman tube. It was infected inside. Every day that I flushed it, I was pushing the infection in me. Spent 5 days in the hospital and had a replacement hickman tube put it. So, I'm still hooked up to my dog leach. The doctors will not let me get off the Dobutamine, knowing that within two days without it, I crash big time.

Anyway, as of the 25 of Nov, I'm without a job. My health insurance ended Nov 30. So I'm without insurance till I get the paperwork in for COBRA insurance that I will have to pay around $2300 a month for 6 months till I can get on Medicare. Yes, $2300 a month is high, but my insurance covers everything. My monthly meds cost a bit over $7000 a month, so I can't go without insurance.

Well, hope all have a good Sunday and God Bless, Paul

Good morning to you too, FF

Appreciate your keeping us updated on how your doing and also for the data on the US healthcare debacle. I'm seriously thankful that I got Medicare before my PM, otherwise it would probably chapter 13 or whatever that number is. I wish some of the folks who are complaining about so-called ObamaCare could see what the system has done to many of us. It did bankrupt us when my husband was done with his final illness and that was WITH insurance.

Anyway Fish, keep fighting and don't let them get you down.

Good to hear from you

You have and are going through such a hard time, my love and sympathy go to you. I really don't know how you cope.
As for the insurance debacle, well I cannot understand the American system. I do have private insurance here in Australia, but if I didn't, I would still be covered under our medicare system. If one is working a small percentage is taken out of wages to cover this. Pensioners are covered free. All emergencies are dealt with immediately. I imagine a pm battery replacement is fairly urgent. For lesser procedures and surgeries there is a waiting list, which is where private insurance comes in, no waiting.

I have heard much about the ObamaCare. Most people seem to think it is not good. Perhaps you or someone out there can explain. As far as I am concerned, health care should come first. All the best
