Hi Everyone,
I read this article last week and thought I would share it:
Innovative New Defibrillator Offers Alternative for Regulating Heart Beat
ScienceDaily (Oct. 3, 2012) A new ground-breaking technology was recently used at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute (UOHI) where two cardiologists, Dr. David Birnie and Dr. Pablo Nery, implanted a new innovative leadless defibrillator, the subcutaneous implantable cardioverter defibrillator (S-ICD), to a 18 year-old...

Hi Everyone,
last monday I went in to have my pm & lead changed. All went well.
on Sunday I started feeling like the symptoms I had before I had the pm changed had come back. I am feeling tired all the time, slightly breathless after going up the stairs & have intermittant palpitations. do you think this might just be post operative stress or should I go have it checked out. I don't like running to the clinic everytime I have a slight flutter.
I do have a follow up...

I am going to a IMAX Theater to see Celebration Day by Led Zepplin on Wed. Will the fact that it will be loud music, effect my Medtronic Dual Chamber Pacemaker? So far since my rate response was turned off I haven't had any problems. Just curious!

Wishing to get some outside input.
I am trying to find out if anyone has had their right ventricular lead removed from the apex and relocated at the right ventricular outlet tract (RVOT)? Based on the studies I have read, this location does not lead to intra-ventricular dys-synchrony.
I wish to have the lead relocated is because of the possible development of pacemaker mediated cardiomyopathy or dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM). The reason I feel that I have developed pace...

Hope all are doing good. Myself, well, I'm back in the hospital. Dam fluid again. Even though I watch what I eat along with limiting myself to 1500CC/ six 8oz cups of fluid a day, this fluid problem keeps coming back. I guess there is no beating CHF even after taking tons of meds, no salt and low fuild diet.
Anyway, they do have me feeling alitttle better and hope just maybe go home tomorrow.
Take care and God Bless, Paul

Hi there!
My name is Amanda and up until a few months ago I was happily traveling the world on a six month tour when I kept collapsing. After two concussions and my heart stopping whilst having a lumbar puncture, I was diagnosed with bradycardia and requiring a pacemaker.
I'm 28 years old, usually a confident person and now i feel my life has changed and I am extremely frightened.
I realise that usually older people have pacemakers inserted, I was wondering if anyone could pos...

Hi, May I mention -Orgone Radiation Protector EMF Earthing Grounding Shield Pendant Geopathic Stres. What I mean is that there is too much electromagnetic pollution that may have caused a lot of illnesses especially cancer has grown. This results in us feeling agitated, or unexplained anger. If we are repeatedly exposed to Deadly Orgone Radiation, we will experience headaches, dullness, lethargy, insomnia and eventually degenerative diseases etc. Do look it up and maybe Tesla Plates might help!...

Also look into crystal gem stones like agate and fluorite to help to heal - don't knock it 'till you try it. Look at other gem stones that you may like to heal your body/chakra - they have also helped me to stay strong and give confidence. I would say try anything that you fell comfortable in doing to help the illness, dig into the net that has a lot of info on this matter. I hope that helps and avoid negative areas/situations.

Hello to you all. I’m a new member from the UK and I had my pacemaker fitted 7 days ago due to several collapses. I’m due for my 10 day check up this coming Monday and just wanted to come on and say hello.
I’m 42 years of age and up until 6 months ago thought I was fit and healthy. Is it usual to have weird feelings about this pacemaker inside your body? Any help would be appreciated.
Regards

I’ve been comtemplating that question for some time, not who is in total charge, but because of my heart stopping I see 6 different specialists.
I tried to get my GP to take charge of the drugs, but he shrugged it off. He said he couldn’t be responsible for what the cardio doc gave me or what my thyroid doc gave me. And I certainly can NOT go off any drug. So who knows if any of them even look to see whats going on....

Hello. I'm new to the site and new to having a pacemaker. I had mine implanted on Monday and have been home recovering. It's going to be a long 8 weeks until I can be active again. In the meantime, I look forward to browsing this site and learning more about everything.
