Imax Theater

I am going to a IMAX Theater to see Celebration Day by Led Zepplin on Wed. Will the fact that it will be loud music, effect my Medtronic Dual Chamber Pacemaker? So far since my rate response was turned off I haven't had any problems. Just curious!

no problem

Have fun! I've done live concerts, concert movies, imax... it's all fine as long as we aren't right on top of the speakers at a concert.

Thanks!

I wasn't sure if I ended up being at the front if I would be too close to the speakers. I too went to a concert to see Neil Young a couple of days ago but I knew where I was sitting wasn't on top of the speakers. As far as Wed, we couldn;t chose seats, so if we get there late we could get stuck in front. Again thanks for the info. I was hoping getting a pacemaker wouldn't stop my concert going! :). This is good to know. lol!

nope

I'm a total concert addict! Have never had a problem. I saw a concert movie in IMAX, sat right in the front and felt fine. (yes, I picked the front on purpose. no, I don't know why, lol, seemed like a good idea at the time)

And know that on the off chance you get too close to a magnet, you're not going to do any damage. Worst case, it goes in test mode until you get away from the source of the problem. If you're not fully dependent and if you're sitting, odds are you'll never even feel it.

Great!

I am dependent for my minimum HR if that makes a difference? Does it? Thanks again! I love going to concerts too. I plan to totally enjoy myself Wed. I guess I'll find out.

Minimum

When the pm is in test mode, it stays at the minimum rate so it won't go up.

The pacer systems are really very reliable. The main problem is the incompetent programming of them. If yours is working well for you, get on with life and enjoy it. You probably are more at risk of problems with a valve job than the pacer.
