I'm back

Had a great camping trip in the desert. One bonus was the Columbus day holiday so I didn't have Navy jets flying over me.

I try to post a photo when get it downloaded from my camera.

I love it being alone in the desert. So peaceful and quiet. The first night out about 10:00PM I thought I heard a vehicle coming on the road outside camp. I went outside the trailer and found it was a car coming down the pass from Death Valley nearly 10 miles away.

Probably the most spooky thing is walking out to my generator to turn it off before gong to bed. Without a moon it is black outside. I put the generator about 100' or so away from the trailer to keep the sound level down. When I shut it down it is dark and quiet. I had a new experience with one of the new LED flash lights. They have such a narrow beam that the light just disappears if they are aimed up. I heard some kind of animal noise as I was walking back and aimed the light at it. All went black. Weird!

It's really pretty safe though.

I have to ask....... don't you get a tinsy bit scared out there in the cold desert at night?

I've heard sound travel further at night, maybe it's true.
