Hi ya'll:)
Just wanted to let you all know that I underwent sinus surgery on Friday, September 28th. It went extremely well and my recovery was doing very well too, but then an issue came up and I started to have a lot of pain. Fortunately, everything is under control again.
So, if you had been wondering where I was...now you know.
I've been pretty slack on here for a number of months - just a lot of personal issues going on, but I'm feeling much better and sho...

Started taking Toprol XL 25mg for blood pressure. Feel like crap on this medication. Have SSS subtype sinus bradycardia. PM set at 60. Everything I read states you should not use this medication if you have a serious heart problem such as heart block, sick sinus syndrome, or slow heart rate. Anyone out there willing to share there experience on a beta blocker after PM implanted and how do you feel? Appreciate feedback on the contraindication part!

I'm leaving in the morning for a few days of desert camping with no internet, and likely no contact with civilization. Finally the weather cooled down and it should be enjoyable.

Almost a year ago, I came to all of you at PM world wide and asked for prayers for a very ill baby of a good Friend of our Family.
From Baby Brooklyn's Aunt Tracy: "For all of my friends who remember that my great niece was born with a heart defect and had open heart surgery at 2 weeks. thanks for your prayers. she was featured in an article int he Hill Country News".
The article in the local Leander, TEXAS newspaper read:
"Eight months ago, a Leander mother gave...

Finishing a trip overseas and was faced twice with the new body scanner at Detroit airport. I refused to go through, opting for the patdown. I know the TSA guys were frustrated. They said the technology is the same as a cell phone and safe with a pacemaker. Well, my doc said to keep my cell phone away from the pacemaker, so I don't imagine going through the machine is a good thing.
Any comments/experience?

Hi, I just recently joined and am thankful for all the information and support that can be found here. I had my (first) pm implanted this morning around 8am and was home by 2pm. All went well except for some atrial flutter and dizziness after getting back to the recovery room. I was fully awake for the procedure and found it interesting, exciting and a little bit scary, but not bad at all. The doctors and nurses were great.
The reason for the pm was tachybrady with paroxysmal atrial f...

Hi!
It makes me so angry that I knew I had something wrong with my heart and for 6 years I went to doctor after doctor and not one of them would do any test until I made my husband come with me. I had a holter monitor on and had a pacemaker a few days later. It makes me even more angry that my 10 year old son has been to so many doctors and pediatricians for the last 8yrs with everyone of them saying he had growing pains.. I finally got a doctor to refer him to a rheumatologist this w...

I am just about to the 4 year mark of my pm implant. I am experiencing some minor discomfort frequently around the heart area. I did talk to my cardiologist, but he didn't seem to think it was a problem. Is this just normal? my interrogation went well and they actually added more time (2 years). I am also going through loss of weight due to severe loss of appetite. Normal? thanks for your input.

Hello everyone , I was Just wondering if t was normal for my heart to feel funny EVERY night at the exact same time? ... 7:52 pm . It only lasts about 20 seconds then goes away ... Is it possible my PM is running tests EVERY night ? I am PM dependant and pace 100 percent of the time for complete heart block ... So I am extremely sensitive to any strange feeling in my heart.
Thanks :)

I had a Medtronic InSync III for a little over 8 years. In those 8 years I never had a problem and the settings never had to be changed. Last March 2012 I finally needed to replace it due to the battery running low. My doctor (for reason yet explained to me) decided without informing me until after I checked into the hospital that he was changing me to a St Jude Anthem Crt RX 3210. When I went in for my 1 month post op check I only had 3 years left on the new pacemaker !! I just about had an...

Got a serious ear infection and swollen gland in my neck, from the infection. Was uncertain about the antibotics given, hopeing it wouldnt cause a rapid heart rate, so far so good after four days on them. I took CipoFlaxin for a fare up of Diverticalous and it cause my heart to good crazy, found out later that it will cause heart irregulars. Doc put me on a different one. All settled down. 2012 will be a year not soon forgotten, been very healthly my whole life and it's been one thing after...

today is one of the happiest days of my life.
I have just found out that I am getting my pm changed this monday, after being told that I may not have it changed for another 6 months.
they are also changing my atrial lead, I have never had a lead changed in all the 27 years that I have had my pm.

After 4 weeks of being in CHB after AVNRT ablation we scheduled the Pacemaker to be placed October 12th. I have been having issues with my FMLA not giving me intermittent coverage due to the physician stating he can not predict a cardiac event but very possible. They want him to put a frequency and duration of the events however how can he predict this. Anyways after him revising the papers 3 different times and still not clearing me for this I just gave up and am sticking through it but am nerv...
