Need to vent!!

Hi!

It makes me so angry that I knew I had something wrong with my heart and for 6 years I went to doctor after doctor and not one of them would do any test until I made my husband come with me. I had a holter monitor on and had a pacemaker a few days later. It makes me even more angry that my 10 year old son has been to so many doctors and pediatricians for the last 8yrs with everyone of them saying he had growing pains.. I finally got a doctor to refer him to a rheumatologist this week as he cant walk any more and screams with pain most days.. The specialist took one look at him and read his bloods and said he has rheumatoid arthritis. He is now on steroids and starts a low dose round of chemo next month.
So if you have that gut feeling that something's not right then keep going back.. I know I will now!!

Read my posts and you will know why. I took doctors off of the GOd pedestal a LONG time ago.

That is so wrong! Glad you and your son both got the diagnoses you needed, sorry that it took so long to get it. Prayers for your son.

The 7 Minute Appt

A lot of this is due to the pressure for the docs to average 7-10 minutes for an appt.

That's one reason that some of us here seem to come up with solutions that a doc with years of medical school missed. All that knowledge isn't much value without the time to put together a thoughtful diagnosis and treatment.

This is a bad time in medicine unless you own stock in a it.
