Ask them how they are going to do it. When I needed a new lead, we did a venogram to see if there was space in the vein with the other leads. There was, so they simply put the new one on top of the old ones, capped off the bad one. If there had not been room, the options would have been run it from the other side or extract what's there and start fresh. Ask them in advance what they plan to do, and what they will do if it does not fit. Odds are pretty good it will, most have room for 3-4 leads.

Hi KB,
When they replace you pm, they will cap the bad lead so that it is no longer active, then they will put a new lead basically alongside the defective lead. It is all done during the same procedure. Hope you feel better after it. Keep us posted.
