Out of town again

I'm leaving in the morning for a few days of desert camping with no internet, and likely no contact with civilization. Finally the weather cooled down and it should be enjoyable.

Have a great time soaking up the warmth in the desert area! I myself just got my heavy down parka back from the dry cleaners and am preparing for our Alaskan winter as the temperatures are already below freezing and we have had our first sprinkling of snow!

Sounds liike we all like the outdoors

I''m taking some warm clothes too, although not a down parka. Predictions are highs in the 73 (brrr) to) 82 (nice). As happens in the desert the lows can be down in the 48-55 range. Where I camp my birthday suit is comfortable in the daytime. (: I'm soaking up enough sun to get me through the winter.

I spent 5 years in Alamogordo and worked at White Sands Test Center. We spent many a time at White Sands National Monument with our kids.

My sister loved Alaska, and lived in Montana. I kidded her that her last wishes was to be freeze dried rather than cremated.

My eight year old son had a pacemaker since he was 6 months old. He does very well, plays soccer, baseball, and rides his bike. I am so glad he is not ashamed of his pacemaker. He will proudly show his "battery" to anyone.
