My pacemaker was implanted 02-11. From day 1, I complained to doctors about poor circulation in my left arm/hand.
7 months later, the doctors finally did a venogram and found a clot on the subclavian vein surrounding the the PM lead. I was on warfarin for 5 months until doppler ultrasound showed the clot had dissolved. They took me off warfarin and I went 2 months symptom free.
Then, last week, the symptoms returned. I got another ultrasound and there was again a subcl...

I had my pm and leads replaced 3-7-12 with Medtronic Revo. Initially, I had problems with sinus tach and low BP. Florinef fixed that. Now I have lots of PAC's with both brady and tachy rhythms, plus three episodes of near syncope in one week. Pacer was checked last week and say nothing shows up. Still waiting for holter results. PCP ran EKG on Monday and said stuff is showing up there--PAC's, long pauses between beats. Low rate is supposed to be 60, but I am finding rates in the high 40's...

I recently had my night rate changed from 60 bpm to 50 because of discomfort at night. my problem is that at 11 p.m.the drop in bpm is so drastic that it puts my heart into af,the same thing happens in the a.m. at 6.This does not happen every day though.Should there be a even transition? I have had a dual pacer for 5 years still get af and feel my heart pounding at night .very uncomfortable.Had numerous changes done voltage etc. Should i go back to the clinic or is that theway it is. Hello everyone. New member. I had my ICD surgery 3-21-12, which was 4 weeks ago.
It is so hard for me to find a position to sleep. I tried to sleep sitting up, that did not work. Tried the angle position, that did not work.
Also it feels like my left breast is in a vice grip. Around the incision itches really bad. Does anyone else have this problem?
Any advice will be helpful.
Thanks

Hi Everyone!
I'm new to this board but was hoping someone could help!
I had my original PM done in 1995...battery change in 2005..last check showed battery life has about 2 years left. My problem is about 4 days ago, I started feeling major discomfort in the pocket area. At times it feels like the PM is trying to push out. I can't remember doing anything although, I know lately I have been waking up with my left arm under my pillow when I sleep. I have tried ice, heat and adv...

Hi, I just had a Metronic pacemaker put in 6 weeks ago. The right lead paced my diaphram so bad. Terrible thumping. The only time I didn't feel it was when I was on my right side. EP turned it off for 6 days until he could go in and move up away from my diaphram. During that time I've never felt so good. Peace. Had the surgery and moved it up about an inch from my diaphram last Monday. Didn't feel anything for a few days. Thought it was fixed. The more active I am the more I feel it pacing. I me...

I had a medtronic pacemaker implanted in Nov 2011 after complaining of being very short of breadth. It was difficult to walk a city block without stopping a few times. I had open heart surgery 12 years ago and they repaired three arteries with arteries they harvested from my body. For 12 years I had no problems I am very active and I never had any angina pains. My cardiologist suggested a angiogram. The grafts were still clear except for some blockage behind one graft. The surgeon who did the pr...

Hello all, f0xmulder here. I am new to the forum and this is my first post. I was born with tetralogy of fallot, and was repaired at the age of 4, i am now 38. During the past six months I have received two inappropriate shocks from my defibrillator due to atrial flutter. My EP doc tried to control the flutter with meds, but after the second shock, decided it was time for an ablation. I had my ablation done at Duke University Medical Center about 3 weeks ago. They found 2 areas that needed to...

Hello,
I just had a pacemaker installed on March 21st. Out of nowhere today, I got a gushing bloody nose. I called the doctor's office, and they said it was unrelated to the pacemaker.
Have any of you had this happen. Oh, yeah, I am not on any medications whatsoever.
Thanks, Marcie

I am back, two weeks now after the 3/29 surgery and I am having the most difficulty in two areas- 1.getting ANY sleep at all 2. Mental adjustment.
First of all, the mental angle of this is just way beyond what I thought it would be. I think I am battling a healthy dose of buyers remorse, since I haven't seen what I would term benefits right away.
My diagnosis is Sick Sinus Syndrome, and I was plodding along for many years with it. After complaining and feeling sort of more...

Hello all!
It has been a while since I last posted... a TON has happened, and I can not remember what my last update involved. So I will just give a nutshell update before I get to the check I had today...
PM was implanted in August of 2009 when I also had open heart surgery to reconstruct my superior vena cava, which was closed to about 3mm due to scar tissue from several (read FIVE) ablation procedures. My recovery was very smooth, and at my first check I was only being p...

Good afternoon,
I was wondering if anyone had their leads removed and had their pacemaker re-positioned to the right side from the left. I would really like to know what to expect. My atrial lead was replaced three years ago due to an insulation break and I have developed the same problem again but they cannot use my left side again as the veins are 'occluded'? My ventricular lead has been in situ for 17 years, will they have to move that due to the re-positioning?
Any help...
