I have had pacemaker for 3 weeks. Every few days my chest hurts when I take a deep breath. I have been back to doctor once and everything with pacemaker ok. Is this normal and will it go away.

I have the same problem. I get chest pain when i take deep breathes. But its started after four months after the implantation. Iv told my cardiologist about the chest pain, and he says he is not too worried about it. So im guessing its normal. :)

If the pain is located over the insertion site, there may be still some 'bedding down'.After surgery there is some pain as the layers try to move around over each other.
Serious chest pain is not going to come and go every few days ( e.g.. pulmonary embolus, pleurisy, or worse). It does sound muscular. Chest pain on exercise should be seen as coronary pain and is an urgent medical problem. Tension in the chest wall, due to anxiety for example, is a common cause of chest pain, not associated with activity.
