It has been 4 months since I had the PM put in. Up to one week ago everything has been fine. last week I started having a lot of pain around the PM area. Doctor checked the PM and did the xray, everything looks ok. So he doesn't have a clue what is going on. I'm still having pain. anyone out there have an idea??

I had a myectomy/maze open heart surgery done in July 2012 to repair HCM and wishfully to stop afib. From Sept 2012 until 6 weeks ago I was felling better than ever! Gym 5 days a week non stop busy days. Just like I was in my 40's. 6 weeks ago, I began getting fluid in my lungs. I was out of town so I called my Pulmonologist and he prescribed 60 mg of LASIK and 24 meg of potassium Got to feeling better. Thought all was finished. My appt with him the next week showed my lungs to be clea...

Just had my settings changed again. RR is off now and something else (unfortunately I don't remember what) was changed. Can PM settings influence BP? My BP is now high, and I am not sure if it is just "aging" or the changes. Part of the reason for the question is this happened before and the cardiologist sent me to my primary care physician, but when my settings were changed, the BP returned to normal. So I have reported this to my new cardiologist but haven't heard back and don't know if I...

After years of no problems went in for a checkup and had two noise incidents recorded. Now I am scheduled for wire replacement. When I first went through the implant surgery recovery process I had the support of my wife at the time (now divorced) Looking for ways to keep the blues away during recovery this time around. Not sure how to do this.

I had a PM inserted in July 2012 for vasovagal syncope. I felt great for several months after having it inserted. In Feb. 2013 I began passing out and having the same symptoms as I had before I got the PM. I've been to my Dr. several times and today he told me that I have pooling of blood in my legs which is another symptom of vasovagal syncope. My legs are not swelled and they do not hurt and they look like normal. I've asked if my PM could be malfunctioning but he keeps saying no because...

I have chest pain or afib or something when I ride on bumpy roads. It is very painful and radiates down my arm. Nothing shows up when they check the read out from the pacemaker. I want to know if this is afib or something else. The cardiologist who takes care of the pacemaker says it will not pick up the afib unless it is over 130 bpm. I would like to understand what is happening. Thanks for any help you can give me.

I got a new PM on Thursday, with an atrial lead added (my old PM had only a ventricular lead). During the surgery I experienced a crushing chest pain just as the surgeon was stapling my incision. He told me the surgery had been complicated due to small veins, with the previous lead in them and a tight turn to get back up to the atrium. He thought a nerve was irritated. In recovery, I had the pain a couple more times so they did an EKG, ultrasound and x-ray. They told me the PM was working pe...

Hello all
A quick question/concern to ask, I've had my pacemaker for 4 years now, 100% paced and up until now things have gone more or less ok. About a week ago the area around the pacemaker( it was implanted in my upper left chest area) has become very sensitive to the point that even if my shirt touches it it hurts and I'm also experiencing pain around the edges of the PM as well as pain going down into my armpit. The pain/sensitivity is not present all the time but i do have episodes th...

I had my pacemaker implanted since January. It was good all these while. Till last Friday, I started to feel my heart pounding in my chest. I walked through the staircase towards my room and I got a bit of dizziness and heaty. When I sit down/lay down, I will be just fine. I've measured my heart rate and it seems normal. Does anyone have similar complications too?

Hello it has been awhile since the last time I have posted. I have been very busy with the kids here lately! I have not been feeling well for sometime now. I have been having pain in my heart and told my doctor said it was nothing, but has not done any testing. So after looking, and looking I found another EP in my area. I went to her and told her about the pain I have been having. She ordered me to have an ultrasound and EKG done. They did the EKG 3 times and could not decided my pacemaker and...

I've had my icd for almost four years. I also used to have a port-a-cath. Whenever I have to carry tray's at work and I work long hours I end up with a lot of muscle pain. When I first had my port I had the same problem due to them moving the muscle to make the pocket for it but after a few months it was gone. With my icd it hasn't and I just wondered if this is normal. Thanks
Samantha
