Feeling awful

I had my pacemaker implanted since January. It was good all these while. Till last Friday, I started to feel my heart pounding in my chest. I walked through the staircase towards my room and I got a bit of dizziness and heaty. When I sit down/lay down, I will be just fine. I've measured my heart rate and it seems normal. Does anyone have similar complications too?

Hi! The symptoms you have described can have a number of causes. The symptoms can be related to medications (even over the counter), settings, stress, etc.. Have you started taking medication recently, stopped taking one or changed medications recently? Please have a medical evaluation of your symptoms without delay for your health and peace of mind. Ditto what Hope said. I'll add that if they interrogate the pm, they may be able to tell what happened if it was heart related.

Were you hydrated? Had you skipped a meal or dose of mediation? Did you check your bp when it happened? Lots of things can cause it, many of them are harmless but always get it checked just in case.

Complications

Nope. I'm not on medication. I've called the hospital's pacemaker department since yesterday. The nurse told me that no one is there till Wednesday. I told them that I'm feeling really uncomfortable and they said even if I go back they couldn't make an adjustment (they have made an adjustment during my last checkup and I was told that if I'm feeling uncomfortable I need to go back immediately for readjustment). However, I've been told two days that they do not have anyone there for readjustment. All I can do is go to emergency for ECG. That wouldn't help. I'm feeling so helpless. I couldn't walk too much as I would have short of breathe and heart pounding in my chest. I keep sweating and feeling really heaty all over my body.

go to the ER

If you are that sob and having the other symptoms, go to the hospital now. That can be heart attack symptoms. Hopefully it's not but better safe than sorry
