Hello all,
I just recently had my third pacemaker implanted, the exact date: August 14th 2013. Before my device was implanted, it was not working correctly; the device, in order to conserve energy, dropped to its emergency power source. My device is set to pace at 95 but then it was pacing at 65. Needless to say, I was exhausted; mentally and physically drained. I got the new device implanted and went back to the doctor; he said the everything looked good and there was no sign of in...

Just sent a message to my Cardiologist's office. for the past few days I have had hiccuping in my lower left side. I would have waited until my next appointment which is not until Sept. after reading a member's post on her leads kept coming out. I started to reconsider that thought since I have had some problems in the past with my leads. on may 17th of this year had my procedure done. less than hour later when in x-ray my LV lead started pacing my diaphragm. so the next day the Doctor had to g...

I had a Pacemaker put in a couple of months ago. After 6 wks, I went to get the wires checked, and after an x-ray, the Dr determined I had dislodged both wires. He cut me open again and reattached them 4 wks ago. I went back to the Dr last wk, and after an xray, One of the wires had dislodged again, so he put put me on a strong heart medication calledAnioarone, which has terrible side effects. Has this happened to anyone e out there? Thank you. Mary aNNE

Hi Friends
I am from India, i have PM implanted 4 months back, Medtronic. just before my implantation my echo- LVEF reads 49% and now it decreases to 30%, it is written 60-65% as normal. my cardiologist didn't gave a clear explanation, for this, it seems my endurance level is much below than i was say 2/3 months back. my setting is 60-130 beats. Please explain my decrease from 49 to 30 is because of PM implantation or is this nothing to do with
PM implantation and my heart condition h...

Can someone help with any information as to wether I should be overly concerned as to my intermittent AF, I have a dual lead Biontronic pacer inserted on the 30th Of January this year.
Still; get AF sometimes and saw the techs a couple of days ago for a chek up and he said most things were ok except I am apparently in flutter 39% of the time, I`m not on any meds as found hard re complications and allergic reactions, the Cardio said may have to consider ablation if this keeps up, think tech...

I've shredded a few documents at work this week and began to feel bad afterwards. Anyone else notice if using a shredder has this same affect? Just wondering if the motor could have caused interference with my PM.

My pacemaker was installed about year and half ago and I haven't had much problems with it until today. I noticed a hard lump the size of a penny over my pacemaker. The lump is over my incision scar. It doesn't hurt to touch, but it does itch a bit. And again, it is very had at the touch. Has anyone had this or know what it could be?
Thank you,
George

I have dual lead pacemaker and AV node ablation. 3 weeks ago mode setting was changed and doc said that should free things up a bit, as my pulse would not go over 90-100 on exertion leaving me totally against the wall. Actually it did free things up a bit so that I can walk quickly up inclines whilst talking and not SOB. Is it a coincidence or a complication that now I have high blood pressure. My cardiologist is on holiday until next Tuesday. BP is 171/85, and I dont want GP to put me on meds i...

My 19 yr old daughter is the pm recipient. She just received her first one last month. How do I know if the lung puncture was a mistake or a complication. The Dr's never told us that making an axillary incision, so that the scar would not be seen, was more difficult than the incision under the collarbone. He ended up puncturing her lung membrane and then said it was a more difficult operation. Any feedback would be appreciated! Thanks.

My medtronic is working great but i continue to feel extra beats. They sneak in around the pacemaker beats; sometimes in between, sometimes after. I don't feel any pain but these pac's or pvc's are really disconcerting. They're especially bad at night when I'm trying to go to sleep. During my working day I hardly feel them at all. Anybody have some suggestions?--I.B.

Hi,
I had PM surgery in May. Some weeks ago I began to have pains on the incision site--stinging, stabbing like pains! Has anyone else had this? How long did they last?
Thanks for responses.

I am a new member who is a male 37 year old, 6FT 2 pacemaker recipient, who had his first one put in 4 weeks ago. I have a Medtronic dual chamber pacemaker installed for complete heart block.
I am asking questions here that have been asked hundreds of times but its reassuring to ask them myself as the whole experience has been pretty over whelming.
Today my pacemaker moved around and to the left towards the armpit. I slept on my arm and raised it in my sleep I think. Tho...

I've only had my pacemaker "installed" for a little over three months. My instillation was a rush job due to a car wreck, emergency room panic, four heart stoppages, etc. The accident was on a Friday around 7:00pm and the first pacemaker was put in Sat.am on my left side. However, during the procedure a lung collapsed, my heart stopped again and they had to cut a new hole and put a tube into my chest to get the lung inflated. Fearing contamination the surgeon removed the pacemaker, closed me u...
