Hello All
I am 56 now ,got my first PM when i was 45 ,3rd heart block. I have had some ups and down ,up to about 2 years ago life was better for me after i got my first PM , but about a year ago i started having so trouble ,first I just didn't have any get up and go any more ,just wanted to lay around and just didn't feel like doing anything ,
I am one of the lucky one , I have a great Dr. ,after i had my first PM , before i check out he gave me his cell phone number ,and told me to call anytime, I keep that number in my phone never has to call him , but on DEC. 20 2012 ,i was working and was not having a good day , I was driving to my next job , and i got sick , and stop the truck ,went to get out of the truck and blacked out ,i don't know how long i was out ,but when i was able to get up and get back in the truck , that when it hit me, I had Loss control of my bowel.
The first call was to get someone to come get me , then i went to his number and called him , being it was in the middle of the afternoon it went to his voice mail , I told him who I was , and ask him to call me back as soon as he could, before anyone got to were i was , my phone was ringing and it was my Dr. , His first works was what is going on , i told him , and he told me to get to the hospital as soon as i can , I live 2 hrs from the ARKANSAS HEART HOSPITAL, and I knew that if i went to one of the hospital local it would be a long time before i got there, , so i called my wife and told her, and ask her to pick me up in town ,my home is on the why to the hospital so i made a stop on the way , when i got there and walked in the E R my Dr. was there ,
With-in a few they had had me all hooked up did some test , after a hour are so they put me in a room , the Dr came in around 10:00 and said everything looked ok and he was going home and that he would see me the first thing. A little after 7 am the next day he was in my room , told me that i need my pacemaker replaced with a pacemaker defibrillator, and he was getting the or ready and by 9:00 am i was on my way to the OR
That afternoon he come in to see how i was doing ,and he didn't just walk in and out ,he stay for about a 1/2 hour or more, that was when he told me that by going back and reading the old pm that all he could say was that GOD still had something for me to do ,
So to you all , thank God for every day ,and i wish that all had a great Dr. like i have
GOD BLESS U ALL

I am not planning on letting any of this shorten my life. I am planning on living a long happy battery operated life. You never know maybe it will keep me alive longer. I sure know one thing I would have been dead before starting school without it.
