I got my new pacemaker the day after Christmas. I also have MS, so I opted for Medtronic's Revo MRI Conditional Pacer so I can continue to get MRI scans to assess my MS situation. Anyone else in my situation?

Hi. I had my ventricular lead revision on Nov. 9. However, my last surgery was this Month. But, since i'm counting from the date the lead was placed and has been settling down, it's been 6 weeks and 2 days.
I haven't been using a sling since week 3-4. I don
t lift up my arm above shoulder height( maybe only twice) , but I have been extending it in every direction like I was before the surgery. Is this bad? Am I risking the lead dislodging once again. Also, I have this fear the a...

Hello to my fellow pacers and defibbers. I have not posted for quite some time so, following the recent change-over of my generator, I thought it was an appropriate opportunity to tell you of my procedure this week. I received my fourth generator, including my second CRT-D, since my initial implantation in 2001 and, as in the past, all went very well. I am, as expected, still a little sore, but I am very happy to have another unit with a full voltage supply! I must admit to some appr...

Hello
Its been 4 weeks this Wednesday since I had my pacemaker fitted. It feels so tight and I still have brusing lower down , is this normal ? It feels worse when I get up from lying down. Just feels like me skin is going to burst open its that tight.
I had a loop recorder implant removed at the same time. That scar is also very sore.
Also noticed since having pacemaker fitted my eyes tend to be a bit bloodshot at times, I suffer from upset stomach first thing i...

Had my PM for over a year now. Still struggling with pain due to movement of PM. Struggling to find a Cardio to take me seriously - 1st one said "You have a PM get used to it. Second opinion said the pain I described - burning around the PM site was "impossible" and to put on a bit of weight! (Fat lot of use that would be, it would all be on my ass anyway!). Third one (After another 6 months of trying to deal with it through my very understanding GP who knows me and doesn't shove me in a labelle...

Hey guys! I'm Day 10 Post-op for a lead extraction. Since I had 4 surgeries since this Nov.5, is it possible that my immune system weakend? I usually don't get colds and when I do I get either bronchitis or pneumonia. I was having a tickle in my throat yesterday and now one of my nasal cavities is blocked. It helps to walk around to move the fluids in my nose but when I stay still, it's an almost complete block. I don't mind it right now because it's just starting but is it bad that's it's relat...

The pace maker was put in because the pulse was too low. The top chamber of the heart was not closing properly. Today I felt like it was a thump. Am I suppose to feel when the pacemaker kicks in? My routine is the same.

Hi all! I havent been on here in quite awhile.
Since my last visit to the website I have had a baby. He is 5 months old. During my pregnancy I was informed I had 13 months until I needed a new battery. Last week I started feeling some odd pulsing/pacing so I visited my pacer technician. She said I do indeed need a new battery asap.
I am having my procedure next Tuesday, the 11th.
I am currently breastfeeding my son and am a stay at home mom and his primary caregiver. I amw...

I am 31 and have only had my single chamber pacemaker for two months. I had it installed because I was diagnosed chronically A-fib with a slow heart rate, from what I can tell it is something I have had for several years. I have always been extremely active and now that I am healing up and starting to run and ride my bike again I don't notice any difference in the way I feel day to day. With my heart beating regularly and almost twice as fast as it was before I would think that I would feel bett...

Hi: I took my pressure bandage off yesterday from my pacemaker replacement surgery I had this past tuesday and I had quite a surprise. 2 incisions and one puncture with stitches on top of the pacemaker. It is all healed well but what a messy mess. I can only think they had trouble either taking out the old one or stuffing in the new one. Has anyone else had this kind of experience? thank you muchRMGD

HI: I had my old pacemaker taken out 2 days ago at the new vascular hospital in buffalo new york. They replaced it with a medtronic adapta model. The new pacemaker is working like a charm.but I feel like Ive been run over by a truck. Im weak and the soreness around the pressure bandage is bad. The medtronic rep told me I would feel worse after this surgery because of the large amount of scar tissue they had to deal with. I was told to leave the pressure bandage on until sunday.and not to shower...
