Tightness

Hello

Its been 4 weeks this Wednesday since I had my pacemaker fitted. It feels so tight and I still have brusing lower down , is this normal ? It feels worse when I get up from lying down. Just feels like me skin is going to burst open its that tight.
I had a loop recorder implant removed at the same time. That scar is also very sore.

Also noticed since having pacemaker fitted my eyes tend to be a bit bloodshot at times, I suffer from upset stomach first thing in a morning and nausea.

Just wondered if this is normal :0) thanks

Hi. Its 2 months since I had my PM and its only just starting to feel ok. It took about 6 weeks for all of the bruising to go. It sounds as though you had a lot of bleeding (blood thinners?) and that would explain the tightness as the blood clots have to desolve and it takes time.

Thanks

Thanks P the E for your words of reassurance.
I go back on the 7th Jan for my first check-up. I will feel more content when they have done this and I get confirmation all is working as it should be. I still have some random thread sticking out one end of my scar, which i think is from where they have sewn me up on the inside. I did give it a bit of a pull with the tweezers but it kept coming so i decided i will leave it where it is and enquire on the 7th. I can probably just snip it with some scissors but wont risk it :-/

Yesterday was my first day mountain biking after my implant. I wiped out several times and everything is fine. There are sports after pacemakers!
