Hi. I had my ventricular lead revision on Nov. 9. However, my last surgery was this Month. But, since i'm counting from the date the lead was placed and has been settling down, it's been 6 weeks and 2 days.
I haven't been using a sling since week 3-4. I don
t lift up my arm above shoulder height( maybe only twice) , but I have been extending it in every direction like I was before the surgery. Is this bad? Am I risking the lead dislodging once again. Also, I have this fear the after my last surgery ( an extraction for the other lead), that my ventricular lead was somehow pulled on. My PM hasn't been checked since then so that's been on the back of my mind.
I'm going to Universal Studios Orlando and Islands of Adventure on Jan. 11 , 2013. Can I go on every ride?
Is my ventricular lead already set in place and I can move my arm with absolutely no restriction?

They are definitely a no-no for those with a pacemaker, Tracey. You need to restrict yourself to the fun rides!
LOL

I'll definitely ask! Actually, my first PM check-up after the last surgery is on January 9th..just two days prior departure. I'm so nervous for the appointment. What if they tell me something's wrong? I would definitely tell them to hold off any treatment until I come back LOL.
Sometimes, I just feel like I did when things weren't normal and the leads were not in place..but then I don't feel it again for a while and that gives me reassurance.
I am so happy to return to Orlando ! The last time I was there, I was on my Make-a-Wish trip ( aug 2011). It was amazing!!!!!!!
I'm going with my mom, sister, and two cousins.
I want to ride everything, but of course not before pre-approval from my cardio. He'll probably say yes hahahaha
About surgeries, thank you!! I also figured that sometime before I'm like 40- so still young- I'll be having a mitral valve repair...so yeah..sucks for more surgeries,....but that
s a long time away!!
I can't believe you'll be in Orlando tooo!!!!!!!!!!! What's the conference about?
Merry Christmas Tracey!

I'm website administrator for several Bar Associations so I'll be the lone computer geek among a bunch of lawyers. And the next weekend I'll be there again chaperoning the band. And the weekend after that my oldest (16) is performing at a flute thingy so we'll be there yet again. Good thing it's a short drive :)
They're already doing some valve replacements by catheter. Give it another 20 years, who knows what amazing technology they can come up with?
Fingers crossed you get a great check up and permission to do whatever you want in the parks! Have a great time. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
You know you're wired when...
Bad hair days can be blamed on your device shorting out.

Yesterday was my first day mountain biking after my implant. I wiped out several times and everything is fine. There are sports after pacemakers!
ask

You are much more complicated than average so I'd say ask your dr! Theoretically after 6 weeks all is grown into place but the extraction may have jostled things and restarted your 6 weeks.
It's good to move the arm, you don't want frozen shoulder.
If you feel good, your lead is fine! If it was dislodged, it wouldn't be pacing.
Avoid any rides with magnetic brakes, they can put the pm into test mode. I'd probably avoid coasters or anything bumpy or that spins with a lot of force for now, give it at least 6 months before shaking things up too much.
I will be in Orlando the day before you! But I'll be stuck in conference rooms in a hotel, wanna trade? :oP
Glad to hear it went well. Fingers crossed you are done with surgeries for a long time!!!!!!!!!!!!
