I don't go anywhere because all I want to do is sleep. I've told my GP and doctors at both hospitals where I've been taken too but no one is listening so here I am two years down the road and so tired after posting this message im off to bed. My last visit to the hospital resulted in a...

Don't know about everyone else, but my body can somehow tell it's just about 7pm and it's time to start some random PVCs. Just got my second pacer installed last week, it took a month for it to settle down last time (Dec 2017). Anyone else notice these more in the evening? I know it's quieter, could likely contribute.
Follow up question; when did your pacer settle in, how long did it take? Mine was starting to feel noticably better at a month (right before they pulled it...

Anyone with a sub-pec implant have any regrets? Other than a longer recovery, what are the problems if any?
I heard they are less of a problem and because they are deeper inside there's a less chance they get infected from irritation. Is this true?

Am thinking of getting a wrist BP monitor. Would have to place my wrist, with the monitor, over my heart. Would that interfere with the pacer? thanks for help.

I will be undergoing thyroid surgery in a couple of weeks. During the preop meeting, they indicated that they plan to switch off the pacemaker for the duration of the surgery,
Is this normal practice? and has any one information about such a procedure?
Thanks
Chas

My eldest daughter is in her 1st year of secondary school and I spent the afternoon meeting her endless teachers, all with glowing reports may I add (proud mother hen here!) HOWEVER....
The last teacher I got round to seeing was her English teacher and, for someone who preaches the correct use of the language, had extremely bad communication skills herself! She didn't even shake my hand when I introduced myself and just scornfully proceeded to ask me why my daughters work...

*I'm working on getting an appointment scheduled - just trying to see if anyone else has experienced this and can tell me what happened for them*
I've had a pacemaker (brady) for 13 years and am on my 2nd device, which I've had for 6 years. I feel like I'm pretty well versed in what having a pacemaker is like and my current device and I are well acquainted.
About a month ago I started having palpitations - my heart didn't feel like it was beating faster, just h...

Hi All,
just want to know if people had similar experience.
I had already flutter and fibrilation problems every now and then for about 8 years. However the last year it was permanent and medication did not help anymore. They advised to do an ablation.
After surgery of 6 hours (Jan. 2017) everything was solved. But this took only 3 weeks and then it came slowly back again. Unfortunately human bodies are self-healing.....and it also heals the bad things.
In june 2017 I...

The Boston Scientific advisory is confined to their pacemakers using Minute Ventilation, MV. I will read the email I received from my wonderfully gifted Boston Scientific Tech that has tried to help me for the past year resolve other unrelated issues with MV concerning the Accolade model. His mail was in response to my inquiry to him after hearing about this issue from a Cardiology office, this is his reply.
"The Advisory that we just issued is a phenomenon that is only r...

Has anyone tried intermittent fasting? It does put your body in a ketosis state which can do wonders for your brain and fat burning. But it can cause arryhthmias too... I have had my PM for 13 years now and I have been on crash diets during that time (which also puts your body in ketosis) and have been fine. But I am wondering if anyone has any experiences while they have followed low carb diets or fasted intermittently over 18 hours?

My mom had a Medtronic pacemaker put in in June 2017. She'd been working with a cardiologist who had said she was going to need one at some point. (She's 75) the reason for that discussion was her low heart rate. She stayed in the low 40's. She then had a bout of afib (it's terrifying to watch your mom cardiovert in front of you!!!!)and they needed to put her in solderol for the afib, and obviously her heart rate was much too low for the medicine...

I have always wanted breast implants and just wondering if anyone here has successfully gone through with this elective surgery with a PM? My PM is on my right side and stitched to the muscle under my clavicle.
Also ive been told I am unable to undergo laser tattoo removal. Is there any truth to that??
Thanks in advance

Arrived home from work last night to find a letter calling me back to hospital. Recall by Boston scientific stating a pacemaker check required as some units may cause patients to feel dizzy and faint. Anyone else had one? I am UK. Hospital appointment 3 weeks plus away so I assume it is not critical.

Had my St Jude pacer implanted Dec 2016' for BradyC over the last year I received a number of calls from the Merlin nurse about my heart rate above 150. Recently the calls became more frequently and when I talk to my Dr. he says not to worry but hard not to. The biggest problem is I don't feel when it's high and surprised to hear I have had the rate increase. The most recent episodes the rate was over 150 for up to 20 minutes a time. I don't think I was excersi...

At age 20, I will be getting a pacemaker in few weeks along with an SA node ablation. This opportunity may change a five year prognosis into a normal life span! I look forward to being a little old lady with a wicked cane!
