Has anyone tried intermittent fasting? It does put your body in a ketosis state which can do wonders for your brain and fat burning. But it can cause arryhthmias too... I have had my PM for 13 years now and I have been on crash diets during that time (which also puts your body in ketosis) and have been fine. But I am wondering if anyone has any experiences while they have followed low carb diets or fasted intermittently over 18 hours?

up untill 2014 I used to compete in national bodybuilding contests in women's bodyfitness, representing Ireland internationally twice. Intermittent fasting was a way of life for me and became my norm and, ironically, I never felt so fit and well back then.
however, as Got Rhythm suggests, different diets suit different people - as do medications, levels of exercise, even our attitudes! I'd be more concerned with sugar levels and potential hypos (even in non-diabetics) having direct impact on the hearts rhythm in people with pacemakers....as we/they have that device to pace and correct their heart rates...this may make recognising a hypo (fast heart rate), sweating, tremors etc a little harder and possibly risky. That all said, I only got my ICD last October but I've noticed I'm far more sensitive to my sugar levels now than I was then and have to eat little and often, last thing on my mind now is fasting lol! I havnt trained or fasted since 2015 but I do understand the benefits of it. Intermittent fasting wont put you into Ketosis unless you are maintaining less than 30gm/day carbs on your "eating' days so it is a long term diet if you are to see the full benefits.
Do I have my device now because of all that time I was dieting, fasting and exercising to excess back then? Who knows... If it's working for you and not causing any nasty sides then we'll done :D
You know you're wired when...
Muggers want your ICD, not your wallet.

We are very lucky to have these devices.
It's probably an individual thing

I have tried intermittant fasting but only for 15 not 18 hours.
I haven't noticed any arrythmias attributable to fasting.
I expect it depends entirely on the individual.
