Hi All,
just want to know if people had similar experience.
I had already flutter and fibrilation problems every now and then for about 8 years. However the last year it was permanent and medication did not help anymore. They advised to do an ablation.
After surgery of 6 hours (Jan. 2017) everything was solved. But this took only 3 weeks and then it came slowly back again. Unfortunately human bodies are self-healing.....and it also heals the bad things.
In june 2017 I had my second ablation. That turned out to be not such a success. After a few hours laser-gaming the cardiologist tried to reset my heart again, but it would not reboot anymore. Probably they burned away a bit too much of tissue. Only solution to keep me going again was placing a PM. So, now I am relying for 100% on my PM for having a heart beat.
Although this PM was not planned before the surgery, I am quite happy with it. I am now 7 months after placing the PM and I didn't feel so good for the last 10 years. I had no irregular heart beats anymore and I am full of energy. Swimming 60 laps (1.5km) every day.
I hope that the flutter and fibrilation will stay away. Cardiologist told me that the chance is about zero that it will come back.
If you have similar experience, please let me know. Also if you can tell me anything about the chance of flutter and fibrilation to come back.
Thanks!

PM after ablation

I had to have a permanent PM placed after having an ablation and they found I had no AV node - therefore no sustained heart beat. I am still having periods of AV/AF but I do not feel them like I used to. They are only seen when I get my PM I interrogated every three months. I am on tikosyn and xarelto and that is about all that can be done.
