Anyone with a sub-pec implant have any regrets? Other than a longer recovery, what are the problems if any?
I heard they are less of a problem and because they are deeper inside there's a less chance they get infected from irritation. Is this true?

Sub-Pec Placement

Hi!
My PM is sub-pec and I just had the generator replaced last March. As a female I prefer that it is invisible except of course for the scar. I cannot feel or see it.
i do think the doctor had some additional difficulty getting the old one out and I know my shoulder kept popping in and out even in my drugged state of mind as he pushed and shoved. I also know that I had a new incision made. Evidently over the last 10 years before replacement was needed, the pm had shifted so he couldn’t use the same incision/pocket. I was pretty bruised up but all healed well and I hope to go another 10 yrs.

Even though healing is a little longer, with my active lifestyle, my EP did it without me asking--he knew I was active. It was implanted in an emergency and I didn't have any time to do any research. I'm happy to have it that way, not getting in the way of my active lifestyle and not visible.
no regrets

Mine is sub-pec. I am very active, love kayaking and lifting weights. It never gets in my way or holds me back, no regrets whatsoever.

Mine is pre-pec, so I can't directly help, but I have had no irritation or infection. The only thing that I have heard about sub-pec is that it is a bit more complicated when it comes to replacing them at end of life, but as you profile says that you were born in 1883 perhaps that is not a concern, and I hope that I live as long as you ;)
